What This Job Is

We handle Maldivian Cargo air freight as the GSA in Trivandrum (remotely) and Cochin. We need someone hands-on who will run daily cargo operations end-to-end and keep things moving without drama: acceptance, screening, documentation, terminal handover, uplift tracking, and handling offloads/issues.

If you're someone who only supervises and escalates everything, this isn't for you. We need a doer who can lead.

What You'll Do (day-to-day, For Real)

Run cargo ops at TRV & COK

Cochin + Trivandrum ( TRV is primarily managed remotely with local coordination; you'll visit as needed)

Keep the station running daily: shipments accepted correctly, screened, handed over, and uplifted on time.

Coordinate closely with Maldivian Cargo, GHA/terminal teams, transporters, shippers, and CHAs.

Manage cut-offs properly (acceptance + documentation + terminal handover). No last-minute chaos.

Acceptance + screening + terminal handover

Check shipment details properly: pieces/weight, packing condition, paperwork, and airline requirements.

Ensure security screening is done and status is clear before handover.

Hand over cargo to the terminal/GHA with proper tally and acknowledgement (no verbal confirmations).

Documentation (must be clean)

Ensure documents are correct and ready as per airline/terminal requirements.

Fix errors fast with forwarders/CHAs before it becomes a rejection at the terminal.

Keep records clean - so we can prove what happened when there's a dispute.

Uplift tracking + issues

Track what gets uplifted flight-wise and share accurate status updates.

Handle offloads, delays, damages, missing piecesown it until it's closed.

Prepare incident/irregularity reports when required and push closure.

Work closely with Head Office leadership

You will work directly with our Business Head and Directors based at the Head Office.

Provide clear daily/weekly updates: performance, pendings, exceptions, root causes, and actions.

Give leadership clean data from the system so decisions are fast and correct.

Customer visits (as needed)

  • Operational reviews and service recovery
  • Strengthening relationships and resolving recurring issues
  • Onboarding customers,documentation requirements, cut-off discipline, process clarity

Commercial responsibility (yes, this role includes sales)

This isn't only operations. You're also expected to help fill space and grow tonnage.

  • Be proactive with forwarders/customers to push available capacity on upcoming flights.
  • Spot opportunities to upsell (better routing, faster uplift, priority handling where applicable, better cut-off planning).
  • Follow up on enquiries/leads assigned by Head Office and close the loop (quote confirmation shipment handed over).
  • Coordinate closely with the Business Head/Head Office team on space planning, target accounts, and weekly tonnage/revenue updates.
  • Visit customers as needed to strengthen relationships and win more volume.

Software + AI (non-negotiable)

Confident using cargo management software (status updates, flight-wise tracking, uploads, exception logs).

Strong in CRM usage (follow-ups, escalations, closure tracking).

Heavy User Of AI Tools (ChatGPT/Gemini/Copilot Etc.) To

  • Write sharp operational updates fast
  • Standardize SOPs, checklists, templates
  • Summarize issues and produce action plans
  • Reduce documentation errors and repeat problems

You should be able to train the team to use systems properly (no bypassing).

What We're Looking For

45 years in air cargo operations (airline / GSA / GHA / freight forwarder air ops).

Strong exposure to airport cut-offs, terminal handovers, and documentation control.

Ownership mindset: you don't forward emailsyou close loops.

Calm under pressure, good communication, and strong follow-up.

We prefer people who stick around and buildthis isn't a short-term hop.

How The Job Runs (work Conditions)

Work hours tied to flight timings; early/late shifts may happen.

Travel between TRV and COK as required.

This is an execution roleresults matter.
