Role Overview
The Career Counsellor plays a critical role in strengthening the school's career guidance
ecosystem, aligned with CBSE with a focus on holistic development, flexibility, and
informed decision-making.
In addition to student-facing counselling, the role contributes to the intellectual and strategic
implementation of career guidance initiatives at the school level, supporting structured
frameworks, documentation, and continuous improvement of career education practices as
guided by the central team.
Key Responsibilities
Student Career Guidance & Counselling
● Student onboarding and management with Career Caffès tech platforms from Grade
8 Onwards
● Conduct one-on-one career counselling sessions for students from Grade 10 to 12
● Smooth coordination and alignment with the central Career Caffè team
● Guide students on subject selection, academic pathways, and post-school options
● Support students in developing clarity around interests, aptitudes, and future
readiness
● Facilitate need-based parent interactions to align expectations and decisions
Assessment & Career Framework Implementation
● Administer and interpret standardized psychometric and career assessment tools
● Implement structured career exploration frameworks, workshops, and guidance
modules as shared by the central team
● Support school-wide career education initiatives such as career talks, orientations,
and exposure programs
● Ensure consistency and quality in implementation across the academic year
Research, Documentation & Knowledge Support
● Stay updated on emerging career pathways, higher education trends, and student
development models relevant to school students
● Support the adaptation of best practices and frameworks into school-level execution
● Maintain structured student records, counselling documentation, and reports
● Contribute to case studies, insights, and impact documentation for internal review
and improvement
Strategic & Institutional Collaboration
● Act as the school-level implementation lead for the centrally designed career
guidance framework (Career Caffè)
● Coordinate with school leadership, teachers, and pastoral teams to embed career
guidance into the broader school ecosystem
● Participate in weekly reviews, planning discussions, and reporting with the Head
Office
● Support pilot initiatives, feedback loops, and refinement of career guidance processes
Experience Requirement
● 2–5 years of prior experience in school counselling, career guidance, student
mentoring, or education-based roles
● Experience in study abroad with an emphasis on understanding popular countries
admission process like US, UK, Canada, Australia etc
Skills & Competencies
● Strong understanding of aptitude, personality, and interest mapping
● Research-oriented mindset with strong documentation and writing skills
● Clear communication and stakeholder management abilities
● Structured, detail-oriented, and capable of independent execution
● Comfort with digital tools for data tracking, reporting, and presentations
Qualifications (Preferred)
● Master's degree in Psychology / Counselling / Education / related discipline
● Certification or formal training in Career Guidance / Career Counselling
