Senior CAD Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AutoCAD Technician to join our existing CAD/BIM team. This role requires expertise in AutoCAD drafting and the ability to work independently whilst having strong collaborative skills enabling seamless delivery in conjunction with the global design and BIM/CAD teams.
What You Will Do
- Use AutoCAD to create and modify technical drawings, including detailed plans, elevations, sections and schedules.
- Develop and maintain company specific dynamic blocks, schedules, and attributes to allow for seamless integration between CAD systems.
- Collaborate with design teams to develop technical drawings to support project needs.
- Organise, manage, and schedule drawing production to suit tasks received.
- Coordinate and collaborate with project teams to produce accurate and comprehensive design documentation.
- Manage review cycles of drawing catalogues to ensure information is kept relevant and up to date.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining high-quality work standards.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that all design information is correctly represented.
- Regularly interact with management, quality assurance, and internal document controller teams, to ensure that any company wide standards, procedures, and any particular or specific client protocols, are being fully maintained and adhered to.
- Provide weekly updates to management to advise on overall progress of CAD delivery.
- Provide input during the project planning phase to optimize the use of AutoCAD for project success.
- Stay current with advancements in AutoCAD, implementing best practices to enhance project workflows.
Required Skills And Qualifications
- CAD experience in an Architectural, Building Technology, or MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) practice, working on large design development projects globally.
- Fully conversant in all required CAD software applications (alongside any associated software integrations) with a demonstrated understanding of the impact and limitations of using designated software platforms is required.
- Previous experience in the development and implementation of design solutions, ensuring adherence to industry standards and project timelines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, creativity, flexibility, initiative, diligence, and the overall ability to make a positive contribution to fantastic projects within a dynamic global team.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a AutoCAD Technician, with a solid background in drafting.
- Strong knowledge of construction documentation and project coordination.
- Understanding of the phases of architectural design and deliverablesas defined by either RIBA or American Institute of Architects (AIA) is preferable.
- Solid understanding of building systems and the construction process.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in AutoCAD.
- Experience with physical security systems.
