Job Description

Job Summary

Khodiyar CAD Center is looking for an experienced Senior CAD Engineer / Head of Department (HOD) to lead our Mechanical Design training and technical department.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in CAD/CAM/CAE software, mechanical design and manufacturing processes, along with the ability to manage a team, train faculty, mentor students and handle corporate/industrial training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire Mechanical CAD department, including staff and student batches.
  • Lead and mentor the technical/faculty team.
  • Conduct and supervise CAD/CAM/CAE software training.
  • Provide faculty training and technical development.
  • Conduct corporate and industrial training programs.
  • Support the development and implementation of new technologies.
  • Provide technical support to students and industry clients.
  • Monitor student performance and support their academic and career development.
  • Guide students in final-year projects, research projects and practical product development.
  • Encourage students to participate in technical competitions such as Hackathons, World Skills, Autodesk Design Challenges, SOLIDWORKS, ANSYS, CAM and 3D printing competitions.
  • Develop and upgrade course content, training materials, workshops and advanced lectures.
  • Support students in developing prototypes and real products.
  • Manage departmental reporting and performance tracking.
  • These responsibilities emphasise department management, team/faculty training, software training, corporate training, reporting and student development.

    Required Software Knowledge

    AutoCAD | Creo / SolidWorks | Mastercam | ANSYS

    Strong knowledge of mechanical design, manufacturing processes, machines, engineering standards, mathematics and practical industrial applications is required.

    Candidate Profile

    • Strong Mechanical Engineering and Design fundamentals.
    • Excellent knowledge of CAD/CAM/CAE software.
    • Strong understanding of manufacturing and industrial design processes.
    • Leadership and team-management skills.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Passion for teaching, mentoring and developing students.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
    • Ability to manage multiple batches, faculty and technical activities.
    • Industry experience in Mechanical Design/Engineering will be an advantage.
