Phillip Ventures IFSC Pvt. Ltd. (PVIPL) is a GIFT City-based financial services firm registered with the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA). The firm is part of the Singapore-headquartered PhillipCapital Group and operates across multiple regulated activities in GIFT City, including Fund Management, Investment Advisory, Broker-Dealer, Global Access Provider, and Distribution. PVIPL offers a range of investment and financial market access solutions to eligible clients, including global investment portfolios, investment advisory services, brokerage and execution support, global market access solutions, and other investment products and services permitted under the applicable IFSCA regulatory framework.

 

 

Role Overview

PVIPL is seeking a commercially driven and relationship-oriented professional to manage the Sales and Business Development function for the product offerings of the GIFT City office of PhillipCapital. The incumbent will be responsible for driving client acquisition, increasing Assets Under Management, building business pipelines, deepening relationships with clients and intermediaries, and expanding market reach for products and services offered by PVIPL. The role will require the candidate to engage with direct clients, family offices, wealth management firms, institutional intermediaries, registered investment advisers, external wealth partners, and other relevant market participants within and outside GIFT City.

 

The role is primarily business-facing and will involve active sales ownership, client engagement, product communication, market development, and coordination with internal teams. The incumbent will also be expected to ensure that all business development activities are conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory, compliance, suitability, disclosure, and internal governance requirements.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

1.      Sales and Business Development

·        Drive sales and business development for the product offerings of Phillip Ventures IFSC Pvt. Ltd.

·        Build and execute a structured sales plan for PVIPL's product suite across relevant client segments, including HNI clients, family offices, institutional clients, wealth management firms, investment advisers, and other eligible investors.

·        Generate and manage a high-quality business development pipeline across direct client relationships and intermediary-led channels.

·        Identify new business opportunities for PVIPL across Fund Management, Investment Advisory, Broker-Dealer, Global Access Provider, Distribution, and other permitted product lines.

·        Build and maintain relationships with external wealth partners, IFAs, registered investment advisers, family offices, institutional intermediaries, and other channel partners who can introduce eligible clients to PVIPL's products and services.

 

2.      Product Positioning and Market Development

·        Develop a strong understanding of the product offerings, including global investment portfolios, advisory solutions, brokerage and execution capabilities, global market access solutions, and distributed investment products.

·        Position products appropriately based on client profile, investment objectives, risk appetite, and regulatory eligibility.

·        Work closely with the Investment team to remain updated on portfolio performance, market outlook, positioning, and product narratives.

·        Track market developments, competitor offerings, client feedback, and industry trends to identify opportunities for product positioning and business expansion.

·        Contribute to the development of PVIPL's marketing initiatives including newsletters, research notes, and wealth partner sessions.

 

3.      Partner and Intermediary Network Development

•        Identify, onboard, and nurture relationships with wealth management firms, IFAs, registered investment advisers, family offices, institutional intermediaries, and other relevant partner networks.

•        Build PVIPL's intermediary engagement framework, including partner mapping, pitch meetings, product education, follow-up cadence, and conversion tracking.

•        Ensure that wealth partners and intermediaries receive accurate and updated information on PVIPL's products, investment process, portfolio positioning, and operational requirements.

•        Coordinate partner-led client meetings and assist in closing business opportunities generated through intermediary networks.

•        Support cross-sell opportunities for PhillipCapital India and group-level products and services, subject to applicable conflict-of-interest, segregation, regulatory, and internal approval requirements.

•        Maintain partner-level MIS covering meetings, leads generated, conversions, AUM sourced, revenue contribution, and pending opportunities.

 

4.      Regulatory, Suitability, and Compliance Coordination

•        Ensure that all sales and business development activities are conducted in accordance with applicable IFSCA regulations, internal policies, product-level restrictions, client eligibility requirements, and compliance guidelines.

•        Assist in conducting structured client suitability and appropriateness assessments wherever applicable.

•        Avoid any form of mis-selling, misleading representation, exaggerated performance claims, or unsuitable product recommendation.

•        Maintain accurate records of client meetings, product discussions, disclosures, correspondence, partner engagement, and consent documentation as required under internal policy and applicable regulations.

•        Escalate any client complaints, regulatory concerns, conflict-of-interest situations, or suitability concerns to the Compliance Officer and Head of Office in a timely manner.

 

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Post-graduate degree in Finance, Business Management, Capital Markets, Economics, Commerce, or a related field from a recognised institution.
  • CFA, CFP, MBA, or equivalent capital markets qualification will be preferred.
  • Minimum 3 to 6 years of experience in sales, business development, wealth management, distribution, private banking, investment advisory, capital markets, asset management, or financial services.
  • Demonstrated experience in acquiring clients, managing business pipelines, working with HNI or institutional clients, and building intermediary relationships.
  • Prior experience in investment products such as PMS, AIFs, mutual funds, international equities, ETFs, structured products, portfolio advisory, or alternative investments will be preferred.
  • Familiarity with global investment products, GIFT City, IFSC structures, and offshore investment frameworks will be a significant advantage.
  • Prior experience in a regulated financial services environment will be preferred.
  • NISM, CFP, or other relevant certifications may be preferred, subject to applicable regulatory requirements and internal policy.

 

 

Skills and Competencies

  • The candidate should have a strong ability to identify business opportunities, develop client pipelines, convert prospects, and drive AUM and revenue growth in a structured manner.
  • The candidate should be capable of building and maintaining long-term relationships with HNI clients, family offices, wealth management firms, investment advisers, and institutional intermediaries.
  • The candidate should have a strong understanding of investment products, portfolio management strategies, global markets, ETFs, advisory solutions, and the needs of sophisticated investors.
  • The candidate should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex investment products in a clear, balanced, and client-friendly manner.
  • The candidate should have a practical understanding of regulatory expectations in financial services, including suitability, product disclosures, conflict-of-interest management, client documentation, and responsible sales conduct.
  • The candidate should be organised, target-oriented, disciplined in follow-ups, and capable of managing multiple client and partner relationships simultaneously.
  • The candidate should be able to work effectively with Investment, Operations, Compliance, and Business Development teams to ensure smooth client acquisition and servicing.
  • The candidate must demonstrate high ethical standards, professionalism, and a commitment to placing client interests first at all times.

 

 Working Conditions

  • Location: Gift City, Mumbai
  • Travel: Travel to Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and other financial centres for client meetings, partner engagement, and business development activities.
  • Work Mode: Full-time, permanent.
