Job Description

Job Title: Business Development Manager – School Sales (B2B)

Location: Chennai

Salary: Up to ₹10 LPA

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Business Development Manager to drive business growth through partnerships with schools across Chennai and surrounding regions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in B2B sales, preferably in the education, EdTech, publishing, training, or related sectors, with proven experience in engaging school management and decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

Identify, prospect, and acquire new school partnerships.

Build and maintain strong relationships with school principals, management teams, trustees, and key stakeholders.

Conduct meetings, presentations, product demonstrations, and negotiations with schools.

Generate and manage a robust sales pipeline to achieve monthly and annual revenue targets.

Develop territory plans and execute market expansion strategies.

Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and implementation for partner schools.

Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements.

Maintain accurate records of sales activities, forecasts, and customer interactions in CRM systems.

Represent the organization at educational events, conferences, and networking opportunities.

Key Requirements

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or a related field.

MBA preferred but not mandatory.

Experience

4–8 years of experience in B2B sales.

Minimum 2–3 years of experience selling to schools, educational institutions, or the education ecosystem.

Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.

Skills & Competencies

Strong consultative selling and negotiation skills.

Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

Ability to build relationships with senior decision-makers.

Strong business acumen and market understanding.

Self-driven, target-oriented, and capable of working independently.

Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office applications.
