About This Role
We're looking for a Senior Business and Data Analyst to work on Xoxoday's enterprise sales performance and incentive compensation product. This is an individual contributor role with real ownership — you'll sit at the intersection of business understanding and data, turning complex sales and incentive workflows into clear, actionable product and operational insights. You'll work closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure that decisions are grounded in accurate data and sharp analysis.
What You'll Do
Own data analysis and reporting
- Analyse complex sales and incentives data to surface trends, anomalies, and opportunities across commission accuracy, quota attainment, and payout performance.
- Build and maintain Excel-based models and dashboards for quota setting, territory planning, commission calculations, and payout reconciliation.
- Own data pipelines and reporting for channel partner programs, direct sales incentives, and territory-based comp plans.
- Translate ambiguous business problems into structured analytical frameworks and present findings to stakeholders across sales, finance, and RevOps.
Bridge business and product
- Translate business requirements from sales, finance, and RevOps stakeholders into precise product requirements that engineering and design teams can act on.
- Work with PMs to define acceptance criteria, edge cases, and calculation logic for commission engines, plan configurators, and performance dashboards.
- Review product specifications for analytical accuracy — including payout ledger logic, dispute workflows, and attainment calculations.
- Identify gaps between how the product behaves and how users actually work, and surface these as prioritised improvement areas.
Stay close to users and execution
- Develop deep familiarity with how sales leaders, RevOps teams, channel managers, and finance teams use incentive and commission products.
- Partner with customer-facing teams to gather feedback from enterprise users and synthesise it into data-backed recommendations.
- Track and monitor metrics like commission dispute rates, payout accuracy, and rep engagement — and drive investigations when numbers shift.
What We're Looking For
- Deep proficiency in working with complex sales and incentives data — you can navigate large, messy datasets across commission plans, quota structures, channel programs, and payout workflows without hand-holding.
- Advanced Excel skills — you build models from scratch, use nested formulas, pivot tables, and know when a calculation is wrong before anyone tells you.
- Strong analytical skills with a track record of translating business requirements into product requirements — you've sat between business stakeholders and product/engineering teams and made the translation work.
Additional Requirements
- 3–6 years of experience in a business analyst, data analyst, or product analyst role.
- Prior exposure to fintech, sales performance management, incentive compensation management (ICM), or channel incentives — products in commission automation, quota & territory planning, gamification, or channel partner loyalty.
- Solid understanding of how commission plans are structured, how channel incentives differ from direct sales comp, and why calculation accuracy and auditability matter to reps and finance teams.
- Experience working independently on analytical workstreams — from problem framing through to stakeholder presentation.
- Clear written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical partners.
- Willingness to work from our Bangalore office in a hybrid setup.
Nice to Have
- Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI) or SQL for deeper data analysis.
- Exposure to channel partner management — MDF, SPIFF programs, tiered rebates, or distributor incentive workflows.
- Familiarity with how enterprise comp teams configure, audit, and dispute commission calculations.
- Experience working within a product team in a close analytical or product operations capacity.
- Prior experience as a founder or at an early-stage startup.
What Makes You a Strong Fit
- You've worked on products or programs where calculation correctness, auditability, and real-time visibility are non-negotiable — think commission engines, payout ledgers, or performance scorecards.
- You understand the tension between sales rep experience (motivation, transparency, gamification) and back-office needs (accuracy, compliance, finance reconciliation).
- You can move fluidly between a messy Excel model and a structured product requirement document.
- You're comfortable owning workstreams end-to-end and don't wait to be told what to analyse.
- You communicate clearly with engineers, product managers, and CFOs — adjusting depth and framing for each audience.
- You care about building practical, usable analysis that actually changes decisions.

- Grow as a business and data operator in a hands-on, high-ownership environment.
