About the Role
We're hiring a Business Analyst who understands manufacturing deeply and can translate operational challenges into AI-driven and analytics-based product solutions. You'll work with plant teams to uncover real pain points, shape problem statements, and define requirements that guide our anomaly detection, forecasting, planning, and decision-intelligence products. Your job is to ensure our AI platform solves real factory floor problems not theoretical ones.
Key Responsibilities
Domain Understanding & Problem Identification
- Analyze manufacturing processes across production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain to uncover operational gaps and inefficiencies.
- Identify high-value problem statements where AI, analytics, automation, or predictive modeling can deliver measurable ROI.
- Engage with plant managers, process engineers, and operators to understand ground-truth challenges and constraints.
Product Discovery & Requirements
- Convert manufacturing insights into structured features, user stories, and detailed requirements for the AI/analytics product stack.
- Define clear use cases for modules like anomaly detection, planning/forecasting, and vendor performance intelligence.
- Work closely with product managers to shape the roadmap based on business impact.
Data & Insights Collaboration
- Work with data science and engineering teams to translate business problems into model requirements, KPIs, and analytics logic.
- Validate data sources (ERP, MES, historians, IoT) and ensure they align with product needs.
- Support evaluation of model outputs to ensure they make operational sense for the shop floor.
Solution Design & Delivery
- Recommend practical solutions that blend product features, process changes, and insights from analytics.
- Support POCs, pilots, and rollout activities, ensuring AI recommendations integrate smoothly into day-to-day manufacturing workflows.
- Gather user feedback and help refine models, dashboards, alerts, and decision workflows.
Continuous Improvement
- Track manufacturing KPIs and identify new opportunities for applied AI and automation.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing trends, and emerging AI tools.
Required Skills & Experience
- 6-9+ years experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 2+ years in manufacturing operations or industrial digital transformation.
- Strong understanding of production cycles, quality processes, OEE, maintenance workflows, and supply-chain fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with ERP, MES, SCADA, IoT platforms, or process historians.
- Ability to write clear, structured documentation: problem statements, user stories, acceptance criteria, BRDs/FRDs.
- Comfort working with data teams on analytics concepts (KPIs, dashboards, anomaly detection, predictive models).
- Excellent communication skills able to translate between factory-floor reality and technical product teams.
- Proven ability to break down complex problems and propose simple, actionable solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an AI/ML or data analytics product environment.
- Familiarity with forecasting, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, or optimization models.
- Exposure to Industry 4.0 technologies or smart factory initiatives.
- Lean/Six Sigma background is a plus (but not required).
