Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Analyst with strong experience in data & analytics transformation and legacy modernization to cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services.
The role involves bridging business stakeholders and technical teams to drive data platform modernization, migration, and analytics enablement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Business & Requirements Analysis
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements
- Translate business needs into data models, KPIs, and analytics use cases
- Conduct workshops, stakeholder interviews, and requirement walkthroughs • Define business process flows, use case diagrams, and user stories
- Data & Analytics Transformation
- Understand existing legacy data platforms (e.g., EDW, OLTP, on-prem systems)
- Identify opportunities for modernization to cloud-native architectures
- Define data sourcing, ingestion, transformation, and consumption patterns • Support design of data lakes, data warehouses, and semantic layers
- Cloud Modernization (AWS / Palantir)
- Work closely with architects to define target-state architecture on AWS
- Support migration initiatives including:
- Legacy-to-cloud data mapping o Data lineage and dependency analysis o Data validation and reconciliation
- Understand services such as: o AWS: S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda
- Data Governance & Quality
- Define data quality rules, validation frameworks, and KPIs
- Support metadata management, cataloging, and lineage tracking
- Collaborate on governance frameworks and access control policies
- Stakeholder Management
- Act as a liaison between:
- Business teamso Data engineers / architectso Product owners
- Communicate insights through dashboards, reports, and presentations
- Support executive-level reporting and decision-making
- Delivery & Agile Execution
- Create and manage: o User stories and backlogo Acceptance criteria o Sprint planning artifacts
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies
- Support UAT, validation, and sign-offs
Required Skills & ExperienceCore Skills
- Strong experience as a Business Analyst in Data & Analytics projects
- Experience in legacy system modernization and data migration
- Hands-on exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
- Understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT, and data warehousing concepts
- Experience working with SQL and data analysis tools
Platform Experience
- Experience with:
- Amazon Web Services (S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena)
Analytical & Documentation Skills
- Strong in:
- BRD / FRD creation o Data mapping documentso Process flows (BPMN, UML)
- Ability to define:
- KPIs o Data dictionaries o Business glossaries Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Ability to work in cross-functional, global teams
- Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in large-scale enterprise modernization programs • Exposure to AI/ML-driven analytics or advanced analytics use cases
- Familiarity with tools like: o Power BI / Tableauo JIRA / Azure DevOps Experience & Education
- 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- MBA or relevant certifications (CBAP, PMI-PBA) is a plus
