Job Description

This role is for one of our clients

We are a fast-growing EdTech platform supporting postgraduate and MBA students studying at UK universities. Currently in a high-growth phase, we are rebuilding our technology and scaling brand presence across key international student markets. This is a high-ownership role where you will act as the central force behind brand, content, and social media strategy—driving direction, execution, and measurable growth.

You will operate as the strategic bridge between leadership and the content ecosystem, ensuring that all marketing efforts are aligned, consistent, and performance-driven. This is not a task-execution role; you will define what needs to be done, how it should be done, and ensure it delivers results.

Requirements

Role Overview

As a Senior Brand Strategist, you will own the end-to-end brand, content, and social media strategy across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Snapchat. You will plan, brief, review, and optimize content while managing a distributed team of creators, editors, and marketing resources. Your goal is to build a strong, relatable, and high-performing brand presence that resonates with international students before and during their university journey.

Key Responsibilities

Content Strategy & Execution (40%)

  • Own and manage the content calendar across all major social platforms
  • Define weekly content themes, formats, and creator briefs
  • Review and approve all content before publishing
  • Optimize captions, hashtags, and posting schedules based on audience behavior
  • Align content with key academic and cultural moments (intakes, exams, festivals, deadlines)
  • Repurpose SEO content into engaging social formats

Brand & Positioning (20%)

  • Define and maintain a consistent brand voice and identity
  • Position the brand as a native, student-first platform aligned with UK culture
  • Monitor competitors and identify differentiation opportunities
  • Build brand guidelines in collaboration with design teams
  • Execute a content-first, soft-sell strategy focused on lifestyle and student engagement

Team Management (20%)

  • Manage content creators, video editors, and marketing support staff
  • Provide clear briefs, feedback, and performance direction
  • Coordinate cross-functional workflows with SEO and marketing teams
  • Conduct regular syncs and onboard new creators as needed

Community & Growth (15%)

  • Oversee community engagement channels, including social media and messaging groups
  • Define tone, templates, and engagement strategies
  • Drive organic growth through collaborations, comments, and content trends
  • Track and optimize follower growth, engagement, and inbound interest

Analytics & Reporting (5%)

  • Monitor performance using platform analytics tools
  • Prepare weekly insights and actionable reports
  • Continuously refine strategy based on data and trends

What We're Looking For

  • 2–4 years of experience in content marketing, social media, or growth marketing
  • Experience working with international student audiences (UK, US, or Australia markets preferred)
  • Proven success in growing social media accounts (especially Instagram/TikTok)
  • Strong understanding of short-form video content and engagement mechanics
  • Experience managing creators, freelancers, or ambassador programs
  • Excellent written communication skills with a natural, conversational tone
  • Highly self-driven with the ability to operate independently

Nice to Have

  • Personal experience studying abroad (UK preferred)
  • Experience with student ambassador or campus programs
  • Familiarity with SEO and content-led growth strategies
  • Exposure to YouTube and Snapchat content strategies

Work Style & Expectations

  • High ownership and autonomy with minimal supervision
  • Collaboration across remote teams with structured communication rhythms
  • Strategic focus on planning, reviewing, and optimizing—not execution-heavy tasks

What You Won't Do

  • You will not appear on camera
  • You will not edit videos
  • You will not handle posting, DMs, or analytics manually

Compensation & Growth

  • Competitive monthly salary with performance-based incentives
  • ESOP opportunities based on performance and tenure
  • Clear growth path to Head of Marketing / Leadership roles
  • Direct access to leadership and full creative ownership
