At NYX, we're building AI-powered products that help businesses automate customer acquisition, marketing, and growth at scale. We're looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to design and build scalable, high-performance backend systems that power our next-generation platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
- Architect distributed systems with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Build and optimize RESTful APIs, asynchronous workflows, and event-driven architectures.
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain production applications on AWS.
- Work with Docker and Kubernetes to manage containerized applications.
- Design efficient PostgreSQL schemas and optimize complex database queries.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers to deliver end-to-end product features.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve system performance.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making.
Technical Requirements
- 4–8 years of experience building and operating production-grade backend systems.
- Strong proficiency in Python (FastAPI/Django) and/or Node.js (Express/NestJS).
- Excellent understanding of High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) with experience designing scalable distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, SQS, RDS, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, and VPC.
- Experience deploying and managing applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong expertise in PostgreSQL, including schema design, indexing, query optimization, and transactions.
- Experience building REST APIs, asynchronous processing, message queues, and event-driven architectures.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Terraform/CDK, and Git-based development workflows.
- Working knowledge of React and modern frontend development.
- Strong debugging, performance optimization, and production troubleshooting skills.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with Apache Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms.
- Familiarity with ClickHouse, BigQuery, or other analytical databases.
- Understanding of MLOps, model deployment, inference pipelines, and AI-powered applications.
- Experience building multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
- AWS Certified Developer or AWS Solutions Architect certification.
