Senior Backend Engineer
What You'll Do
- Build and operate distributed backend systems in Go that support high-scale, time-critical learning and communication workflows
- Take ownership of services end to end, architecture, data models, APIs, testing, deployments, and production reliability
- Work closely with product and frontend teams to debug issues quickly and ship meaningful improvements
- Make pragmatic technical decisions in a startup environment where speed and clarity matter
- Use AI tools to prototype, automate repetitive work, and move faster without cutting corners
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally in Go or another statically typed language
- Experience building and running systems in cloud environments like AWS or GCP
- Strong fundamentals in relational databases (MySQL preferred), including performance and schema design
- Comfort owning production systems, monitoring them, and responding when things break
- A startup mindset: bias for action, comfort with ambiguity, and pride in shipping things that work
