Position: Senior Backend Engineer/ Architect

Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale robust backend systems and services. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience building high‑performance, secure, and scalable backend applications and APIs, and will work closely with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
- Build and optimize RESTful / GraphQL APIs consumed by web and mobile applications
- Develop and maintain microservices-based architectures
- Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code following best engineering practices
- Participate in system design discussions and architecture decisions
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability
- Ensure backend systems are secure, fault-tolerant, and production-ready
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, QA, DevOps, and product stakeholders
- Participate in code reviews, mentoring junior developers when needed
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide root-cause analysis
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer / Software Engineer
- Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages:
- Java, Node.js, Python, or Go
- Strong experience with API development (REST preferred)
- Hands-on experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
- MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.
- Experience with microservices architecture
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, and security best practices
- Experience with version control systems (Git)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Exposure to event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of distributed systems and scalability patterns
- Prior experience working in product-based or SaaS environments
