Senior Backend Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer – Java with a strong backend and DevOps background to design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable, cloud-native applications. The role involves building high-performance backend services while actively contributing to CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java 11+, Spring Boot, and JPA/Hibernate
- Build and optimize PostgreSQL databases, ensuring performance and reliability
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs within a microservices architecture
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build and deployment
- Containerize applications using Docker and deploy on Kubernetes (EKS)
- Work with AWS services such as EC2, RDS/Aurora, S3, Cognito, and EKS
- Monitor application health and performance using logging and monitoring tools
- Ensure security best practices, including authentication and authorization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and production support
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java backend development
- Strong expertise in Java 11+, Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA
- Solid experience with PostgreSQL and database performance tuning
- Hands-on experience with microservices and REST API design
- Strong DevOps experience with:
- Docker & Kubernetes
- CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, GitLab CI)
- Working knowledge of AWS cloud services
- Experience with Linux, shell scripting, and production deployments
- Good understanding of system design and scalability
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent
