Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, secure, and scalable backend services using Python.
• Build and optimize SQL-based data pipelines and database schemas (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar).
• Integrate AI/ML models into backend systems through REST APIs or model serving frameworks.
• Collaborate with data scientists to productionize and deploy models efficiently.
• Lead architecture discussions and conduct code reviews.
• Build APIs for web and mobile applications focusing on performance and reliability.
• Work alongside DevOps teams for deployment and monitoring (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD).
• Ensure adherence to security, privacy, and data governance best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Experience designing fault-tolerant and scalable systems.
• Strong SQL and relational database expertise.
• Experience with caching technologies.
• Hands-on experience deploying AI/ML models into production.
• Understanding of data science workflows and tools (Pandas, NumPy etc.).
• Strong knowledge of system design, software architecture, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to LLMs (OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain etc.).
• Experience with message queues, caching systems, event-driven architecture.
• Knowledge of ETL tools, data lakes, or data warehouses.
• Familiarity with GraphQL or gRPC.
