As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the server-side logic, APIs, and services that power our applications. You'll focus on designing scalable architectures, optimising performance, and ensuring system reliability. Your role will directly contribute to delivering high-quality, secure, and efficient backend systems while collaborating closely with frontend and DevOps teams.
Architecture And Development
The core responsibilities for the job include the following:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and microservices.
- Ensure scalability, performance, and security of backend systems.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following coding standards.
System Reliability
- Optimise system performance and troubleshoot bottlenecks.
- Implement automated testing (unit/integration) to ensure software reliability.
- Proactively address technical debt and scalability concerns.
Collaboration And Best Practices
- Work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and QA teams.
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of backend processes and tools.
Cloud And Deployment
- Build and manage services on GCP/AWS (Azure is optional but not preferred).
- Work with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes for deployments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 5-10 years of backend development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Node.js, Python, and TypeScript.
- Solid understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and APIs.
- Experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and data modelling.
- Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP/AWS).
