Senior Back End Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend microservices in Go for trading, accounts, wallets, market data, and settlement.
• Implement high-throughput, low-latency REST and gRPC APIs and event-driven workflows using Kafka, with strong correctness and data-integrity guarantees.
• Integrate with blockchain nodes, custody providers, payment rails, and external liquidity sources.
• Write robust tests (unit/integration), maintain Azure Pipelines CI/CD, and ship features incrementally behind feature flags.
• Instrument services with structured logging, metrics, and distributed tracing; monitor via Azure Monitor and dashboards.
• Participate in design reviews, API contract definition, and code reviews; document key architectural decisions.
• Triage bugs, analyze production incidents, and contribute actionable findings to post-mortems.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong, idiomatic Go development skills with a solid grasp of concurrency patterns.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred), Redis, and message queues (Kafka).
• Good testing discipline; comfortable with CI/CD, Azure Pipelines, and Git workflows.
• Performance and security awareness; able to profile Go services and resolve bottlenecks.
• Clear communicator and collaborator.

Experience Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience, with at least 2 years in Go.
• Delivered and operated production microservices with comprehensive testing and CI/CD.
• Worked with REST/gRPC APIs, OAuth/JWT authentication flows, and event-driven/asynchronous systems.

Nice to Have

• Experience building trading systems, payment platforms, or other high-stakes financial backends.
• Familiarity with blockchain node integrations, wallet management, or custody service APIs.
• Exposure to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Service Bus, and New Relic.
• Understanding of AML/KYC data flows and financial regulatory requirements.
