About the Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Azure Data Engineer (5+ years) to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that drive their data initiatives. This remote position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance data workflows and support cloud data platform initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Databricks (SQL, Python, Spark).
- Optimize ETL/ELT processes for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Implement best practices for data quality, governance, and security.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to define data requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across data workflows and distributed systems.
- Support migration, modernization, or cloud data platform initiatives.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or similar roles.
- Strong expertise with Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake, Workflows, SQL).
- Proficiency in Python and SQL skills.
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms (Azure).
- Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and distributed computing.
- Shell scripting experience.
- Familiarity with GitHub and JFrog Artifactory.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong written and verbal English proficiency.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with data governance frameworks and best practices.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
Qualifications
- 5-9 years of professional experience in data engineering or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience in building and optimizing data pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
