Role Overview – Senior Azure Consultant
We are looking for a highly experienced and proactive
Senior Azure Consultant to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Microsoft Azure cloud environments. This role requires strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to mentor teams while ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Azure Infrastructure & Solution Design
- Architect, deploy, and manage Azure infrastructure including Virtual Machines (VMs), Virtual Networks (VNets), Subnets, NSGs, and Load Balancers.
- Design and implement scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant cloud architectures.
- Manage Azure PaaS services such as App Services, Storage Accounts, and database services.
- Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
Identity, Security & Governance
- Administer Azure Active Directory (AAD), RBAC, and identity governance strategies.
- Define and enforce Azure Policies, blueprints, and governance frameworks.
- Implement advanced security controls using Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Azure Firewall.
- Lead security assessments, compliance audits, and remediation strategies.
Monitoring, Performance & Reliability
- Design and implement monitoring solutions using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
- Establish proactive alerting, performance tuning, and capacity planning strategies.
- Ensure adherence to SLAs, SLOs, and operational excellence standards.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis for critical incidents.
Automation, DevOps & Optimization
- Drive automation initiatives using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and scripting best practices.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using ARM Templates or Terraform.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native practices.
- Optimize cloud costs and resource utilization using Azure cost management tools.
Collaboration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, Security, and Application teams.
- Act as a subject matter expert for Azure-related initiatives and client engagements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5–9 years of experience in Azure Administration, Cloud Engineering, or related roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, and architecture design).
- Deep expertise in Azure Networking, Virtual Machines, Storage, and Identity Management.
- Proven experience in designing high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Strong proficiency in PowerShell (mandatory) and Azure CLI.
- Expertise in Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
- Solid understanding of cloud security best practices, governance, and compliance.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (ARM Templates / Terraform).
- Exposure to containerization and orchestration tools such as AKS is preferred.
- Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or equivalent are highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead initiatives and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
