Position Summary: We are looking for an AWS Infrastructure Engineer at SMTS level to design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance in our Chennai Cloud Division. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business needs, optimize cloud resources, and enhance automation and monitoring capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure following best practices.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Configure and optimize AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, and others.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues.
  • Implement security best practices, including IAM roles, policies, encryption, and compliance controls.
  • Design and manage AWS networking components, including VPCs, Transit Gateway (TGW), Subnets, Route Tables, Security Groups, Network ACLs (NACLs), and Direct Connect.
  • Optimize IAM policies and permission models to ensure least-privilege access while maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to optimize cloud resources.
  • Maintain documentation for architecture, configurations, and processes.
  • Evaluate new AWS services and recommend improvements for scalability and cost optimization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5 to 9 years of experience managing AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS networking concepts, including VPC design, VPNs, Direct Connect, and Route 53.
  • Expertise in IAM policy management, permission boundaries, and least-privilege principles.
  • Experience with automation and scripting using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Harness, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Experience implementing security best practices and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC2, HIPAA).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer) are a plus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS/EKS).
  • Familiarity with serverless architecture (AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions).
  • Understanding of cost optimization strategies within AWS
