ABOUT THE ROLE

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

We're building India's next-generation Payment Orchestration & Routing platform on AWS (ap-south-1), processing UPI, NEFT, RTGS, and IMPS payment rails at scale. We need a DevOps SME to own the entire platform engineering lifecycle — infrastructure, containers, CI/CD, observability, security, and PSP connectivity — in a PCI-DSS compliant, cloud-native environment.

Hands-on senior IC role. You'll make architectural decisions, own production reliability, and mentor a growing DevOps team. Platform is ECS Fargate-first with active EKS expansion underway.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

▸ AWS Infrastructure & IaC — Full VPC topology (NLB, NAT GW, CloudFront + WAF, PrivateLink); Terraform & AWS CDK; Route 53 routing; Ansible for EKS, EC2/runner fleet management

▸ Container Platform — ECS Fargate cluster lifecycle, ECR, blue/green & rolling deployments; EKS expansion roadmap; container security hardening (least-privilege IAM, Secrets Manager injection)

▸ Data & Cryptography — Aurora PostgreSQL Multi-AZ, DynamoDB (idempotency + events), ElastiCache Redis, AWS CloudHSM (FIPS 140-2 Level 3), KMS envelope encryption

▸ CI/CD Pipelines — GitHub Actions: SAST, SCA, ECR push, Terraform plan/apply, EKS, ECS deploy, OIDC federation (zero static credentials), GHAS, drift detection. GitLab CI + self-hosted runner management a strong plus

▸ Observability — CloudWatch + OpenSearch + X-Ray full stack; OpenTelemetry (OTEL); Prometheus/Grafana familiarity; SNS → PagerDuty / Slack P0/P1 alerting

▸ Security & Compliance — PCI-DSS v4.0 controls; GuardDuty + Security Hub + Config conformance packs; DevSecOps pipeline integration (SAST, SCA, container scanning)

▸ PSP Integration — mTLS connectivity to Razorpay, PayU, Cashfree; routing orchestration by BIN range / payment rail / transaction amount; PSP health scoring & cascading failover

▸ Technical Leadership — Mentor junior engineers; own ADRs & runbooks; on-call rotation; blameless post-mortems; Agile/Scrum delivery with Payment Engineering, QA & Product

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

✔ 8+ years DevOps / Platform Engineering; 5+ years AWS production

✔ 3+ years building or operating payment gateways / PSP integrations

✔ Production-grade Terraform or AWS CDK in multi-account AWS environments

✔ GitHub Actions pipelines from scratch — OIDC, environment gates, ECS/EKS deployment

✔ Full-stack observability design in live payment workloads

✔ PCI-DSS knowledge for cloud-hosted payment infrastructure (SAQ D / ROC preferred)

✔ Python and/or Bash — Lambda, automation scripts, custom CloudWatch metric emitters
