We are seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to design, build, and maintain our scalable, secure, and reliable AWS cloud infrastructure. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, cloud networking, and security. The ideal candidate will be a strong AWS expert, capable of writing and maintaining Terraform, CloudFormation, and CI/CD pipelines to streamline cloud deployments.
Roles & Responsibilities
- AWS Infrastructure Design & Implementation: Architect, implement, and manage highly available AWS cloud environments. You will design VPCs, Subnets, Security Groups, and IAM policies to enforce security best practices.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation: Develop and enhance Terraform & CloudFormation templates for cloud provisioning. Automate deployment, scaling, and monitoring using both AWS-native tools and scripting.
- Cloud Security & Compliance: Enforce best practices in IAM, encryption, and network security. You will ensure compliance with standards like SOC2, ISO27001, and NIST, and implement tools such as AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, and WAF for threat detection and response.
- Monitoring & Performance Optimization: Set up monitoring solutions (AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana) and logging for proactive monitoring. Implement autoscaling, load balancing, and caching strategies to optimize performance, and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues.
- Collaboration & DevOps Practices: Work closely with software engineers, SREs, and DevOps teams. You will maintain GitOps best practices for infrastructure versioning and participate in on-call rotations for high-priority cloud incidents.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree with hands-on cloud experience, a Bachelor's degree with extensive experience, or a Diploma with a substantial background in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Deep hands-on experience with core AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, etc.).
- Expertise in Terraform & CloudFormation for AWS infrastructure automation.
- Strong knowledge of AWS networking (VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, VPN, Route 53).
- Experience with Linux administration, scripting (Python, Bash), and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, etc.).
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or Terraform Associate certifications are preferred.
