Senior Automotive Engineer (UGNX – BIW & CLOSURE with European/US Standards)

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for working with team on technical solutions, CAD solutions, overall quality of the Team and meet the project timeline requirement
- Support project leaders in maintaining all project management records.
- Responsible for investigation and design complex parts in the project
- Must have relevant experience on passenger car body (BIW & Closure) Concept Development & Design
- Expert in NX
- Must have good technical knowledge on sheet metal design & its Tooling Processes
- Must have good understanding of BIW Materials (Metals, Plastics & Carbon Fiber) & BIW Assembly Technique processes
- Should have relevant experience in Master Sections, Vehicle Integration, Vehicle packaging, Concept creation of BIW parts
- Preference would be given to candidates having BMW, Daimler/MBRDI experience
- Must have handled projects for leading Automotive OEMs (e.g. Ford, Daimler, BMW, Nissan etc.…)
- Must be willing to travel onsite
- Must be willing to work at various levels in a project organization depending on the project requirement
- Good communication & interpersonal skill is necessary
- Must be willing to Lead Design Team & give necessary Trainings
- Should have experience in US & European regulations and project-specific codes.
- Utilize PLM systems such as ENOVIA or Teamcenter for data management and engineering release processes.
- Interact with European OEMs/Tier-1 customers to gather requirements, resolve issues, and ensure design acceptance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- B.E, B.Tech, M.E, M.Tech in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering
- 5–10 years of hands-on experience in automotive BIW & Closure.
- Expert proficiency in UGNX (Sheet metal Design, Assembly, Drafting).
- Strong knowledge of PLM systems and engineering release workflows.
- Deep understanding of sheet metal & plastic part design fundamentals including drafts, splits, ribs, clips, mounting, warpage considerations, and tooling feasibility.
- Experience working on European OEM/Tier-1 projects with understanding of standards and coding systems.
- Knowledge of European/US automotive regulatory requirements including safety, crash, ergonomic, and environmental standards.
- Strong familiarity with GD&T, DFMEA, and DFM/DFA practices.
- Excellent communication and customer interaction skills.
