Job Title: Senior Automation QA, AVP

Location: Bangalore, India

Role Description

  • We are looking for a highly skilled and experiencedSenior Engineer, Automation QAto join our dynamic technology team. In this pivotal role, you will be a key contributor to our quality engineering efforts, responsible for designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive automated testing strategies and frameworks across various applications and platforms.
  • As a Senior Automation QA Engineer, you will not only be hands-on in writing code for automated tests but also play a leadership role in shaping our QA processes, mentoring junior team members, and driving continuous improvement in our testing methodologies.
  • You will work closely with development, product, and DevOps teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, performant, and secure software solutions that meet Deutsche Bank's rigorous standards.

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust, scalable, and efficient automated testing frameworks (e.g., UI, API, performance, security) using industry best practices and tools.
  • Define and implement automation testing strategies for new and existing applications, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and alignment with project goals.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient automated test scripts in languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Rest Assured)
  • Develop and execute automated tests for RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Develop and maintain automated UI tests for web and potentially desktop/mobile applications.
  • Contribute to the design and execution of performance and load tests to identify bottlenecks and ensure system scalability.
  • Integrate automated tests into continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to enable rapid feedback and accelerate delivery cycles.
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in automation testing to the broader QA and development teams.
  • Mentor and coach junior QA engineers, fostering their technical growth and promoting automation best practices.
  • Participate in and lead code reviews for automation scripts, ensuring adherence to coding standards and quality guidelines.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement in existing QA processes and automation coverage, driving initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work closely with software developers, product owners, business analysts, and DevOps engineers throughout the SDLC to understand requirements and ensure quality is built-in from the start.
  • Accurately identify, document, and track software defects, working with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Act as a strong advocate for quality across the organization, promoting a culture of quality-first development.

Your skills and experience

  • Bachelor's / Master's Degree in ECE / EEE /Computer Science / IT or in STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or equivalent with expertise in Extensive QA & Automation
  • 10+ years of professional experience (including technical SKILLS) in in Quality Assurance, with at least6+ years specifically focused on test automation.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an engineering leadership / management role with people management for medium to large projects and teams
  • Experience in software management through at least 2+ complete product life-cycles
  • Experience in delivering high quality software outputs with comprehensive understanding of Agile software development principles
  • Proficient in at least one object-oriented programming language, such asJava, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • UI Automation, In-depth, hands-on experience withSelenium WebDriverfor automating web application UIs.
  • BDD Frameworks:Extensive practical experience implementing and utilizingCucumberfor Behavior-Driven Development.
  • Proven ability to design, build, and maintain robust, scalable automation frameworks.
  • Experience with API testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Rest Assured, Postman/Newman, Karate, HTTPClient libraries) is requiredbased on project assignments.
  • Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
  • Solid understanding of database concepts and ability to write SQL queries for data validation is requiredbased on project assignments.
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g.,Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM Octane).
  • Strong understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. Strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Experience in the financial services industry, understanding regulatory environments and data security concerns.
  • Familiarity with other modern UI automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Cypress) for comparative analysis or specific use cases.
  • Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
