Job Summary
EIT Automation Pvt. Ltd., a Mitsubishi Electric System Integrator specializing in Renewable Energy Automation, is looking for a dynamic and technically skilled Automation Engineer – PLC & SCADA. The role involves the complete lifecycle of automation projects, including PLC programming, SCADA development, communication system integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer handover for utility-scale Solar, Wind, BESS, and Hybrid Power Plants across India.
The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience in industrial automation systems, strong problem-solving abilities, and a willingness to travel extensively for site commissioning and project execution activities.
Key Responsibilities
PLC Programming & Control System Development
- Develop, test, and maintain PLC programs using Ladder Logic, Structured Text (ST), and Function Block Diagram (FBD).
- Configure I/O mapping, signal scaling, timers, counters, interlocks, and alarm logic.
- Implement, modify, and optimize control logic based on project requirements and site conditions.
- Troubleshoot PLC programs and automation systems during commissioning and operational phases.
SCADA Development & Configuration
- Develop SCADA graphics, process mimics, dashboards, trends, and alarm management systems.
- Configure SCADA tag databases, historian logging, and data acquisition systems.
- Develop standard and customer-specific reports and operational dashboards.
- Ensure reliable visualization, monitoring, and control of plant operations through SCADA systems.
Communication & Industrial Networking
- Establish and maintain PLC-to-SCADA and field-device communication.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and integrate communication protocols including:
- Modbus RTU
- Modbus TCP/IP
- IEC 61850
- IEC 60870-5-104 (IEC 104)
- OPC UA
- OPC DA
- Integrate field devices such as:
- Multifunction Energy Meters (MFM)
- Protection Relays and Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs)
- Solar Inverters
- Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) EMS
- Battery Management Systems (BMS)
- Power Conversion Systems (PCS)
- Weather and Meteorological Stations
- Configure managed Ethernet switches, fiber-optic communication networks, media converters, and industrial networking infrastructure.
- Implement IP schemes and network redundancy using Ring Topology, RSTP, and MRP.
Database Management & Reporting
- Work with SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases for historian, operational, and configuration data.
- Develop, customize, and maintain reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Support database maintenance, backups, and performance optimization.
Commissioning & Site Execution
- Conduct Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), loop checking, point-to-point testing, and end-to-end signal validation.
- Perform installation, configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities at project sites.
- Lead field testing and ensure seamless integration of automation systems.
- Complete project handover to customers following successful commissioning and documentation approval.
- Coordinate with clients, OEMs, EPC contractors, and Grid/SLDC authorities during project execution.
Customer & Project Coordination
- Provide technical support to customers during project execution and commissioning.
- Coordinate closely with internal engineering teams and external stakeholders.
- Participate in technical discussions, review meetings, and project progress evaluations.
- Ensure timely issue resolution and customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Technical Skills
Automation & Control Systems
