Senior Automation Engineer

About the Role:

Goose Industrial Solutions is looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to join Goose Industrial Solutions. This is a technically strong, hands-on position driving a growing portfolio of industrial automation projects. You will own project delivery end-to-end from PLC and SCADA development through to site commissioning and support junior engineers along the way.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead assigned projects.
• Develop and commission PLC programs - Siemens TIA Portal (S7-1200/S7-1500) and/or Rockwell Studio 5000
• Configure, programme, and commission SCADA/HMI systems - WinCC, FactoryTalk View, or equivalent
• Programme, parameterise, and commission Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) across various platforms
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical panels, control circuits, and field instrumentation
• Support the design team in preparing electrical drawings, panel layouts, and wiring schedules
• Review and validate panel wiring and MCC assemblies against engineering drawings
• Manage site execution activities - coordinate with clients, contractors, and commissioning teams
• Prepare technical documentation
• Identify project risks early and propose mitigation actions to the project manager

Required Skills & Experience:

• 4 to 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation engineering
• PLC programming - Siemens S7-1200/S7-1500 (TIA Portal) , Rockwell Allen-Bradley platforms
• SCADA/HMI development - Siemens/Rockwell/ Candidates can mention other SCADA based on their experience.
• VFD commissioning - Siemens SINAMICS, Danfoss, or equivalent
• Electrical panel troubleshooting - reading schematics, fault finding in control and power circuits
• Industrial protocols: PROFINET, PROFIBUS, Modbus TCP/RTU, EtherNet/IP
• Independent site commissioning and startup capability
• Team leadership aptitude - ability to guide and develop junior engineers

Preferred Background:

• Prior experience at a Siemens or Rockwell system house, System Integrator (SI), OEM, or service division
• Exposure to dairy, food & beverage, water treatment, Tyre, Multi axis Servo systems, pharmaceutical industries, Packaging Industry.
• Knowledge of functional safety concepts (SIL assessment) or experience with safety PLCs
• Familiarity with energy management automation — metering, substation SCADA, APFC
• Electrical system like motor starters and selection of electrical switchgear.
