Job Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Audio Technical Lead to own the technical delivery of Windows audio solutions for flagship programs. The role involves audio architecture, DSP firmware, Windows kernel-mode drivers, audio bring-up, debugging, validation, optimization, and release readiness.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in the Windows Audio ecosystem, including DSP, WDM/WDF drivers, APOs, audio services, and audio device integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own technical delivery for the audio subsystem, ensuring milestone readiness and zero-regression releases.
  • Architect and develop Windows audio solutions spanning DSP firmware, kernel-mode drivers (WDM/WDF), APOs, and user-mode audio services.
  • Lead audio bring-up, validation, integration, and debugging for speakers, microphones, headsets, SoundWire, and Bluetooth Audio.
  • Drive audio driver ingestion, validation, integration, and release activities.
  • Collaborate with silicon vendors, IHVs, and internal engineering teams to resolve complex audio issues.
  • Perform deep root-cause analysis of audio quality, performance, stability, and reliability issues.
  • Utilize Windows audio diagnostics, DSP debugging tools, logs, traces, and other low-level debugging techniques.
  • Integrate and optimize advanced audio technologies such as Dolby/DAX, Voice Clarity, and AI-powered audio features.
  • Lead design and code reviews and establish strong engineering and debugging practices.
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical direction across audio development and validation activities.
  • Drive SelfHost quality improvements, backlog reduction, automation, and release readiness.
  • Ensure security-by-design, SFI compliance, and timely remediation of security vulnerabilities.

Mandatory Skills

  • 8 10 years of relevant experience in Audio / Embedded / Windows Audio development.
  • Strong hands-on C/C++ programming.
  • Experience with Windows Audio architecture and subsystem.
  • Strong experience with DSP firmware development/integration.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows kernel-mode audio drivers WDM/WDF.
  • Experience with Audio Processing Objects (APOs) and Windows user-mode audio services.
  • Experience in audio bring-up, validation, debugging, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with SoundWire and/or Bluetooth Audio.
  • Strong understanding of audio signal paths and audio hardware/software integration.
  • Experience with low-level debugging, root-cause analysis, logs, traces, and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong technical leadership, design review, code review, and mentoring experience.

Good to Have

  • Experience with Dolby/DAX.
  • Experience with Voice Clarity or similar audio enhancement technologies.
  • Experience with AI-powered audio features.
  • Experience working with audio silicon vendors / IHVs.
  • Experience with SelfHost and Windows release processes.
  • Knowledge of SFI/security compliance and vulnerability remediation.
  • Experience developing or modifying audio codec/bitstream encoding or decoding software.
  • Hands-on experience writing C/C++ programs for bitstream parsing, encoding/decoding, frame handling, packetization, or codec integration.
