Job Description

Position : Senior Associate

Department : Finance & Accounts

Reporting to : Deputy General Manager

Job Summary

The Senior Associate – Accounts will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, supporting financial reporting, managing factory accounting operations, ensuring statutory compliance, and assisting in cost analysis for mining and manufacturing activities. The role requires close coordination with production, stores, procurement, logistics, and corporate finance teams to ensure timely and accurate financial information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Accounting
    • Record and verify accounting transactions in Tally
    • Maintain general ledger, sub-ledgers, and account reconciliations.
    • Prepare monthly journal entries and provisions.
    • Ensure proper accounting of expenses, purchases, sales, fixed assets, and inventory transactions.
    • Monitor advances, deposits, and employee reimbursements.
  • Accounts Payable Management
    • Verify vendor invoices, purchase orders, GRNs, and supporting documents.
    • Process supplier payments as per approved credit terms.
    • Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve discrepancies.
    • Monitor outstanding liabilities and ageing reports.
  • Accounts Receivable Management
    • Monitor customer receivables and collections.
    • Reconcile customer accounts.
    • Assist in follow-up of overdue receivables.
    • Maintain export receivable records and realization status.
  • GST & Statutory Compliance
    • Assist in preparation and filing of GST returns.
    • Reconcile GSTR-2B, purchase register, and vendor compliance status.
    • Maintain records for GST audits and assessments.
    • Support compliance under TDS, TCS, PF, ESIC, Labour Welfare Fund, and other applicable regulations.
    • Ensure proper documentation for statutory audits..
  • MIS & Reporting
    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.
    • Generate reports on production costs, inventory, receivables, payables, and cash flow.
    • Support budgeting and variance analysis.
    • Assist management in profitability and operational analysis.
  • Audit & Internal Controls
    • Support statutory, internal, cost, and tax audits.
    • Maintain accounting documentation and audit trails.
    • Ensure adherence to SOPs and internal control procedures.
    • Identify process improvement opportunities and control weaknesses.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    • Accuracy of accounting records.
    • Timely closure of monthly accounts.
    • Inventory reconciliation accuracy.
    • Timely vendor and statutory payments.
    • GST and tax compliance without penalties.
    • Timely submission of MIS reports.
    • Reduction in accounting errors and audit observations.
Educational Qualification

    • B.Com / M.Com
    • CA Inter / CMA Inter (Preferred)
Experience

    • 5 to 8 years of experience
    • Experience in factory accounting and inventory management preferred.
Technical Skills

    • Accounting Standards and Indian GAAP.
    • GST, TDS, and statutory compliances.
    • Inventory and cost accounting.
    • ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally Prime, Focus, or equivalent).
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel and MIS reporting.
Working Days and time

Monday to Friday – 09.00 am to 05.30 pm (Work from Office)

Saturday – 09.00 am to 02.00 pm (Work from Home)
