Basic Information

Position Title – Senior Associate

Experience Level – 3-6 Years

Department – Private Markets

Location – Gurgaon

Position reports to – Assistant Director

Job Purpose

  • Typical engagements would involve (but not be limited to) the following:

– Participating in research for leading PE firms, consulting companies and funds globally

– Projects including information look up for companies, industries and sectors

– The ability to extract and condense information from multiple data sources

– Managing workflow and interacting directly with the client without supervision

– Handling sub-teams to delivery client-ready output focusing on quality and team efficiency

– The ability to work effectively in team with a mix of long and short-term deadlines with flexible working hours

Key Responsibilities

Project Management:

  • Understand client requirement, scope projects, manage end-to-end execution and delivery (work allocation, research, analysis, quality control, delivery)
  • Translate client objectives into clear deliverables with associated priorities and constraints
  • Experienced in all types of secondary research (databases, statistics and ministry/ industry/ association websites), as well as general research (company websites, SEC Filings, research reports, news articles etc.)
  • Handle multiple work streams, as required
  • Take complete ownership of all quality related aspects

People Management

  • Lead projects independently and guide a team of 2-3 analysts and associates in daily tasks to ensure that the work is on course to meet clients objectives
  • Provide effective, on-time and objective feedback to team members and be involved in their overall grooming and development

Client Management:

  • Understanding project requests, discussing projects, negotiating deadlines and handling client queries
  • Drive automation and process improvements in borrowing base calculations, reconciliation, and reporting to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and control.

Key Competencies:

  • Excellent academic results from leading schools with 4-6 years of relevant experience
  • Good understanding of different terminologies, multiples and ratios used in the financial research domain
  • Candidates with hands-on experience of using different third-party data sources like Bloomberg, Factiva, MergerMarket, etc. will be preferred
  • Ability to evaluate information for reliability and usefulness, and extract information from a source appropriately
  • Ability to organize information from multiple sources and present it in an easily understandable manner
  • Strong project management, multi-tasking skills and ability to work against tight deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in written and verbal English
  • A self-starter, highly motivated, ambitious, and willingness to work hard
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Written and spoken fluency in Italian
