Basic Information

Job Purpose
The role is ideally suited to an ambitious individual who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, leveraging technology and taking ownership within a growing entrepreneurial investment firm.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Operations
- Assist with the onboarding of new investments, debt/financing facilities and intercompany financing instruments, ensuring all are accurately set up in systems from day one
- Review and extract key operational terms from loan and credit agreements, asset-specific documentation and transaction closing materials, ensuring relevant data is accurately captured in systems
- Process and support the operational aspects of investment transactions, including closings, funding events, drawdowns, distributions and settlements
- Monitor daily cash balances across funds and entities; reconcile payments and cash movements accurately and in a timely manner
- Process FX forward activity, ensuring hedges, settlements and currency cash flows are accurately captured, reconciled and recorded
- Perform trade, position, cash, transaction and PnL reconciliations — identifying, investigating and resolving breaks, escalating in a timely manner
- Support credit event management including waivers, restructures and refinancings, ensuring relevant activity is accurately processed and flagged for review
- Maintain accurate investment records and contribute to the integrity of internal systems and reporting
- Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring all activity is accurately reflected, reconciled and submitted within agreed deadlines
- Liaise with fund administrators, custodians and other third-party service providers on day-to-day operational matters
- Compile and prepare audit support in respect of investment instruments, fund debt/financing facilities and intercompany financing instruments
Process Improvement and Technology
- Identify opportunities to automate manual and repetitive workflows and support their implementation
- Assist with the evaluation and deployment of technology solutions that improve operational efficiency, control and scalability
- Leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, information management and operational processes
- Contribute to the design of more efficient, technology-enabled operating models
- Document and maintain operational procedures, controls and process maps
Data Management and Controls
- Perform data quality checks across people, system and diagnostic controls to ensure client's data is accurate, timely and fit for purpose
- Develop a working understanding of data flows across the business — from source systems through to reporting — supporting golden source principles
- Contribute to the build-out of client's data lakehouse by supporting data standards, lineage and governance work
- Assist with regulatory reporting obligations including EMIR, MiFID II and other applicable requirements
- Maintain and update operational checklists and contribute to the firm's risk and control framework
Cross-Functional Support
- Work closely with investment, finance, legal and compliance teams to support day-to-day operations and ad hoc initiatives
- Support fund launches and new product implementation
Key Competencies:
- 3–5 years of experience in private credit, direct lending or broader alternative asset management
- Hands-on experience performing reconciliations (trades, positions, cash, transactions, PnL) and supporting credit event management
- Working knowledge of private market investment processes and the end-to-end operational trade lifecycle, including loans, securities and other financial instruments
- Exposure to FX forwards and the operational mechanics involved
- Familiarity with specialist investment operations systems; experience with Sentry, eFront or IVP Recon is particularly welcomed
- Strong data literacy - able to work with data flows, support golden source discipline and contribute to a controlled, accurate data environment
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with at least one reporting, data or workflow tool (Power BI, VBA, Python, Airtable or similar) is an advantage
- High degree of ownership, accountability and a solutions-focused mindset
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
- Excellent organisational skills with a proven ability to manage time-sensitive tasks and meet strict daily, monthly and periodic deadlines without compromising accuracy or control
- Clear communicator, able to liaise confidently with external counterparties, offshore teams and internal stakeholders
- Comfortable operating in a growing, entrepreneurial environment with limited bureaucracy
- Adaptable and resilient - able to shift priorities and respond effectively as the business evolves
