We are seeking a Senior Associate - Oracle Database to be an integral part of a dynamic team in Hyderabad. This on-site role focuses on the planning, implementation, performance tuning, and maintenance of enterprise relational database platforms, with a strong emphasis on reliability, security, and automation. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in database service delivery and operations, a passion for innovation, and the ability to collaborate with global and cross-functional teams. This role requires the ability to drive key organizational initiatives and deliver high-quality results.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Database Administration: Provide database administration support for development, test, and production environments, including installation, upgrades, performance optimization, and decommissions of Oracle databases.
- Security & Recovery: Administer security access controls and perform necessary security patch implementations. You will also be responsible for recovering databases during disaster recovery events.
- Automation & Process Improvement: Recommend and implement automation opportunities for operational work and process improvements. You will follow, review, and recommend updates to support documentation as needed.
- Collaboration & Support: Collaborate with technical leads on database design decisions to ensure applications have high levels of performance and security. You will investigate and resolve technical database issues and participate in a rotational 24x7 On-Call Support.
- Storage & Clusters: Possess a strong understanding of how to support and use NAS storage and cluster technologies.
Technical Skills
- Experience administering Oracle Database and related services and monitoring systems.
- Demonstrable experience automating database provisioning, patching, and administration.
- Experience with various DB toolsets for performance review, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of ITIL frameworks and standard methodologies.
- Experience supporting Oracle RAC and Data Guard is preferred.
- Experience using Ansible for automation is a plus.
- Experience supporting PostgreSQL databases is a plus.
- Experience working on regulated systems (preferably in the pharmaceutical sector) is a plus.
- Database certifications (OCA) are preferred.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree with relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree with extensive experience, or a Diploma with a substantial background in Information Systems and Database Administration.
