Elevate is looking for a detail-oriented Patent Drafter with 3+ years of hands-on experience in drafting US and European patent applications, particularly in the biotechnology / life sciences domain. The role involves close collaboration with inventors, senior patent attorneys, and international associates to manage patent drafting.
Specifically, the Senior Associate will
- Draft provisional and complete patent specifications for life sciences inventions with guidance, including:
- Background, summary, detailed description, examples, and figures
- Independent and dependent claims (initial drafts)
- Assist in drafting PCT, US, EP, and Indian patent applications.
- Incorporate inventor inputs and experimental data into patent ready disclosures.
- Participate in inventor interviews and invention disclosure reviews.
- Coordinate with internal teams, senior drafters, and external counsel to ensure timely filings.
Experience
- 3+ years of hands on experience in patent drafting or IP support roles in life sciences.
- Exposure to drafting patent specifications and claims for life sciences inventions.
- Experience working in IP law firms, KPOs, LPOs, or in house IP teams.

- Familiarity with patent databases such as Google Patents, Espacenet, Lens.org, PatBase, or Derwent.
Qualification
- M.Sc./M.Tech in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Pharmacology, or related field).
- Indian Patent Agent (passed or appearing) or strong intent to qualify.
