About Northstar Analytics

Northstar Analytics (Northstar) is a research and analytics firm that supports global financial institutions and corporates. Founded in September 2021, Northstar has a growing team of 50+ professionals who work on in-depth investment and business strategy research for both buy-side firms (like private equity, venture capital, family offices, hedge funds, and independent sponsors) and sell-side firms (such as boutique investment banks and merchant banks).

We focus on delivering high-quality, end-to-end support tailored to each client's needs. Our team is involved throughout the investment process, which helps us build deeper expertise and ensures our work is both challenging and fulfilling.

Role:

As a Senior Associate, you'll play a senior client-facing role, collaborating with global investment professionals while leading and mentoring Associates and Analysts internally. You'll own project delivery, manage client relationships, and drive excellence across Northstar's research and analytics practice.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical & Analytical Expertise

  • Manage and oversee deliverables including, but not limited to:
  • Financial models & valuation analyses
  • Investment committee documents
  • Industry landscapes & competitive benchmarking
  • Company profiles & information memoranda
  • Financial and operational analysis of businesses across industries
  • Maintain an end-to-end understanding of the investment lifecycle across buy-side and sell-side mandates

  • Client & Project Management

    • Manage client expectations and ensure timely, high-quality output on all deliverable
    • Translate client needs into actionable tasks for the team and ensure seamless execution

    Collaborate with leadership to support client relationship management

    Team Management and Collaboration

    • Manage, guide, and mentor Associates and Analysts on project execution
    • Provide structured training and feedback to junior team members
    • Play an active role in recruitment, onboarding, and training of new hires
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement within the team
    • Work with internal teams to support smooth processes, knowledge sharing, and efficient delivery of work
    • Contribute towards maintaining quality client delivery and supporting the overall growth and standards of the Company

    Prerequisites:

    • 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience
    • Prior team and project management experience is preferred
    • Prior client facing experience is essential
    • Entrepreneurial and proactive attitude
    • Strong analytical ability
    • Dedication to exceeding client's expectations
    • Strong attention to details
    • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
