The Team:

The Federal Tax team at Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) focuses on providing comprehensive tax advisory and compliance services to a wide range of clients, including multinational corporations and private equity portfolio companies. The team works on complex federal tax matters, assisting clients with planning, structuring, and reporting, while ensuring compliance with ever-evolving tax regulations. It offers a dynamic environment that combines technical expertise with a hands-on, commercial approach to problem-solving.

How you will Contribute:

As a Senior Associate within Federal Tax you will:

Assist with the tax compliance process by reviewing partners estimates, extensions and annual compliance filings for pass through entities;

Assist with the tax compliance process by reviewing Corporation entities estimates, extensions and annual compliance filings

Independently conduct research and review analysis of a wide variety of tax issues;

Participate in tax-planning and consulting projects;

Attend client calls to understand critical areas of importance and apply tax technical knowledge to specific client situations;

Create deliverables that are concise, complete and address the elements deemed critical by the client;

Mentor Associates and Senior Associates when they are supporting the same projects by delegating appropriate tasks and ensuring they complete tasks efficiently;

Develop others by sharing proven techniques, best practices and procedures;

Support client relationships and demonstrate a working knowledge of client businesses, with opportunity to assumeadditional responsibility quickly;

Identify opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients by using working knowledge of client businesses; and

Build internal relationships with other members of the Tax team

Qualifications:

MBA Finance, Chartered accountant, CPA(or in the process of pursuing), EA is an added advantage

3-8 years of experience in tax advisory and compliance for corporations and partnership entities in public accounting or professional services (Big 4 experience preferred)

Pass through entity experience. Corporate experience, including tax provisions, is a plus

Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to establish credibility and influence clients

Strong research, writing, and analytical skills

Proficient in all Microsoft Office products (with an emphasis on Excel) and research software

Experience With GoSystem Tax RS And OneSource Preferred

Ability to simultaneously work on several projects and effectively manage deadlines

High motivation to learn and grow

Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills to excel in a deadline-driven environment
