Core to delivering on this priority are card and banking application and onboarding experiences that enable our customers to apply for our products with the least amount of effort, wherever and however they choose to apply. In addition to an enormous emphasis on users and usability, our team is responsible for onboarding platform capabilities while mitigating the compliance risk and drive faster decision and approval-to-spend timeframes for existing and new customers.
We are looking for a passionate, talented, and adaptable strategic product owner to own onboarding and compliance capabilities that support American Express Digital Acquisitions.
Responsibilities
We are looking for a Product Owner of Digital Product to lead our platform product capabilities, which power the onboarding experience globally.
As the Product Owner, you will have the opportunity to define the platform roadmap and make a direct contribution to the success of our company. You will drive initiatives forward, co-creating with high performing teams across compliance, engineering, design, analytics, and other product disciplines. You have a real passion for using scientific methods and technology to build user-centric solutions to challenging problems, for bold decision-making and for digital innovation. You will enjoy being challenged in a fun, collaborative, diverse and inclusive team environment.
You will be responsible for identifying opportunities, defining and launching features, as well as implementing capabilities tied to a multi-year roadmap.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Product analyst experience within an Agile-Scrum environment.
- Proven ability to execute the product backlog.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to simplify complex ideas, navigate cross-functional environments, influence decisions, and drive shared outcomes.
- Understanding of software performance monitoring and analytics
- Strong relationship management skills across business units and key functional areas.
- Ability to self-start, operate in ambiguity, and work independently.
- Balanced technical fluency and business acumen.
- Ability to analyze data and processes to identify creative solutions and drive continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and openly share knowledge and experiences with the team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; Ability to effectively communicate across stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a product owner
- Proficient at investigating customer needs and problems
- Robust knowledge of software architectural patterns, systems integration, APIs, and fundamentals of full-stack web development
- Strong ability to analyze user experience metrics and other data to determine priorities, opportunities, and issues with product
- In-depth knowledge of Agile processes and principles: backlog refinement, sprint planning, writing user stories, MVP, sprint demos
- Experience in dealing with ambiguity/unstructured problems, simplifying complex problems, ability to use risk based decisioning frameworks, and influencing teams and stakeholders to drive desired outcomes
- Ability to build positive relationships, and influence decisions with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders
- Deep understanding of the acquisitions and AML Compliance areas of the process
