Job Purpose
The Data Analyst will support Private Markets investment operations by delivering accurate, well‑governed data solutions using the CEPRES performance analytics platform. Partnering with Investment, Risk, Finance, and Data & Analytics teams, the role translates business requirements into trusted data definitions, calculation logic, and quality controls to support fund performance, fund administration, and exposure reporting. The position is critical in ensuring data readiness, consistency, and confidence for downstream analytics and informed decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply Private Markets data expertise, and where applicable, leverage familiarity with CEPRES to support data validation, quality checks, and testing of performance calculations, data rules, and business logic.
- Analyze, validate, and reconcile fund performance, capital activity, NAV, and exposure data, ensuring consistency across fund administrator outputs, internal datasets, and performance analytics platforms (e.g., CEPRES where relevant).
- Partner with Investment, Risk, Finance, and Data & Analytics teams to translate business needs into clear, actionable data requirements.
- Define and document data rules, validation checks, data quality metrics, and completeness thresholds that describe expected data standards.
- Perform day‑to‑day analysis of datasets to continuously monitor, refine, and improve data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Document data element definitions, calculations, tolerances, and data transformation logic in a structured and consistent manner.
- Identify missing or incomplete data fields, assess business impact, and coordinate remediation with data owners and technical teams.
- Maintain and update data dictionaries, including field definitions, source‑to‑target mappings, and transformation details.
- Validate data outputs with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business expectations prior to production use.
- Investigate data anomalies and quality issues using SQL and analytical tools, supporting reconciliations and root cause analysis.
- Clearly document and track data issues with severity, impacted datasets, ownership, and resolution status.
- Ensure data issues are assigned to the appropriate owners, tracked through resolution, and closed with supporting evidence.
- Build, maintain, and refine dashboards, metadata, and governance artifacts in Collibra to support transparency and quality monitoring.
- Maintain data documentation, lineage notes, and issue logs to ensure audit readiness and ongoing data trust.
- Collaborate with data engineering, governance, and operations teams to improve data pipelines, quality controls, and operational processes.
- Support Agile delivery by contributing to user stories, acceptance criteria, sprint planning, testing, and validation activities.
