Job Description

Job Purpose

  • Analyze and process credit proposals and applications of MashreqBank's retail Lending Products also including Badr Products as well for approval or escalation to Credit Supervisors within the stipulated TAT.
  • To ensure smooth implementation of the front end automation of credit process solution across all lending products with significant gains in customer experience and productivity.
  • Regulating all approvals within the Credit Policy and Product parameters.
  • Ensuring consistent application of credit policy, quality of underwriting decisions and of documents held as collateral.
  • Responsible for the supervisory credit review function as and when required for RBG Products through implementation of standard operating procedures and policies as per Product Program Guidelines.
  • Responsible as a reliable back up in the absence of team leader/Asst Manager.
  • Responsible in the development of the new staff into the team and also periodically assist in the training of the new staff in the team

3 Key Result Areas

Credit Analysis

  • Analyzing for approval or escalation to higher authority: eligibility as per policy, bank statement, past data check on Flex cube , Prime, and other applicable systems review through application system IRIS/MWS
  • Measuring, evaluate and providing suggestion to improve the team's productivity.
  • To undertake various assigned projects to increase the unit productivity and to enhance product and credit policy for retail lending products.
  • To be actively part of all trainings, process improvement initiatives and system changes for the product / process betterment. Exception Identification
  • Exception identification for eligibility, pricing, CPV, information capture on the system and collateral compliance.
  • Communicating major deficiencies and policy violations to Team Leader/Asst Manager for follow-up.
  • Categorizing cases as Declined, Rejected, or for Deviation Approval if above checks fail.
  • To ensure daily productivity targets are met.
  • To ensure quality service to internal / external customers by adhering to the committed turnaround time.
  • To be first line of defense by exercising controls to book quality applications and to highlight any document anomalies sighted with the Fraud prevention unit Training & Testing
  • To be actively involved in the process of training and testing implemented by the quality unit.
  • To help in the on job training of the new staff in the team
  • To be a key team player and should at all times keep the motivation levels up within the team Credit Policy / Product Manual & Operational Issues
  • Identifying anomalies in Credit Policy and Product Manual.
  • Recommending additions and modifications to Credit Policy and Product Manual.
  • Recommending improvements in operational procedures and risk areas from time to time.

4 Operating Environment, Framework and Boundaries, Working Relationships

To interact on daily basis with the:

  • Internal staff within the team
  • Assistant Managers / Onshore managers
  • Credit Investigators
  • Internal Compliance
  • Sales and Branch staff in the absence of the Asst Manager
  • Liaising with other stake holders to fix any process hindrances
  • Operate in a high pressure credit automation driven environment.
  • To support Assistant Manager on day to day activities

5 Problem Solving

  • Approve all cases with strict adherence to approved delegated authorities and ensure strict implementation of the same
  • Escalation of cases lying beyond eligibility criteria and credit score to Credit Supervisors.

6 Decision Making Authority & Responsibility

  • To ensure compliance to specified procedure.
  • Ensure error free processing of cases
  • Review of the Quality reports and collectively review the corrective action plans
  • Approval of cases under delegated approval authorities.

7 Knowledge, Skills And Experience

  • Graduate with > 3 years work experience in Credit Management environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Sound interpersonal skills
  • Sound knowledge in MS office tools for report purposes
  • Good PC skills.
  • Ability to problem solving and work independently.
  • Should be customer focused and achievement oriented.
