Job Description

Job Purpose

The Business Analyst will play a critical role in supporting private equity operations by bridging business, data, and technology teams. With strong exposure to fund data lifecycle and reporting processes, the role focuses on ensuring accurate data capture, completeness, and consistency across systems. The analyst will leverage their understanding of private equity data flows, financial statements, and reporting tools (such as Citco or Ceprix) to support governance initiatives, resolve client and team queries, and enable reliable downstream reporting. The position requires a proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to clearly communicate insights across multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with private equity stakeholders to understand and document end‑to‑end fund data flow lifecycle, from data capture through reporting and consumption.
  • Act as a liaison between business users, data teams, and external service providers to ensure smooth coordination and issue resolution.
  • Analyse and interpret financial statements, quarterly reports, and fund performance data to support business understanding and reporting accuracy.
  • Guide teams on data capture requirements, identifying gaps, inconsistencies, and missing data elements, and ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Develop a strong understanding of underlying data within systems such as Citco, Cypress, and related platforms, and how data feeds into downstream processes.
  • Support day‑to‑day queries from clients and internal teams through structured analysis and clear communication.
  • Assist in documenting business requirements, data definitions, and process flows to support reporting and operational needs.
  • Participate in data governance initiatives, including defining data ownership, quality expectations, and control frameworks.
  • Proactively identify data quality or process issues and work with relevant teams to drive resolution.
  • Support validation of data outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business expectations.
  • Maintain strong documentation discipline for business rules, data issues, and resolution outcomes.
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail and ownership while managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced private equity environment.

Key competencies

  • Candidates should have a B.E./B.Tech/MCA/MBA in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field
  • Strong experience in private equity, with a solid understanding of fund structures, data flows, and reporting cycles.
  • Ability to read, analyse, and accurately interpret financial statements and quarterly investor reports.
  • Working knowledge of fund administration and tools such as Citco, Ceprix, or similar platforms (preferred).
  • Understanding of data governance concepts, including data quality, ownership, and lifecycle management.
  • Ability to analyse data, identify gaps, and support data completeness and accuracy initiatives.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact effectively across business, data, and technology teams.
  • High level of proactiveness, attention to detail, and problem‑solving capability.
  • Experience supporting or participating in data governance or control‑focused initiatives is an advantage.
  • Ability to understand how underlying system data feeds into business and reporting processes.
  • Background as a Business Analyst with exposure to data analysis concepts and structured requirement documentation.
