This position will be a key contributor to one of Global Financial Crime Compliance (GFCC) core functions - the APAC AML Governance andAnalytics team, andwillbe responsible forensuring a robust controls framework across wider AML investigations and reporting of suspicious transactions processes. The candidate will interact closely with AML Investigations teams and/or Money Laundering Reporting Officers (MLROs) in the APAC and other regions to document process framework, seek enhancements or consistent approaches while managing AML risks, including analysis of various AML data points toidentifytrends.
The successful candidate should be capable of acting independently,demonstratesprocess improvement mindset, prioritizationskillsand a willingness to tackle new orchallengesissues. This position will also require knowledge of the banking system and common AML typologies. In addition, the candidate needs todemonstratestrong communicationskills and is a team player who can collaborate with multiple stakeholders,possessesstrong analyticalskillsand is adaptable and able to thrive in an evolving environment. The role requirescandidatetopossessthe ability to exercise sound judgment andobservethe highest degree of confidentiality inhandling ofinformation receivedin the course ofhis/her responsibilities.
Job responsibilities:
Manage the design, execution, and continuous enhancement of the reporting and governance framework for the GFCC team in the APAC region, driving ongoing improvement and operational excellence.
Lead AML Investigations regulatory exams, questionnaires, and internal/external audit readiness by shaping response strategy, ensuring high-quality content, and coordinating timely delivery.
Own management reporting and complex reporting requests, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and robust controls around data sourcing, retention, and documentation. Develop actionable KPIs/KRIs to inform leadership decision-making and demonstrate program health.
Develop and continuously enhance analytical capabilities to generate actionable insights, identifying emerging themes and trends impacting the APAC AML Investigations team, and support management recommendations.
Contribute to governance, policy, and procedure management, including governance and risk management for outsourced activities supporting AML Investigations (where in scope), ensuring clear controls, monitoring, and regulatory alignment.
Apply deep expertise in AML Investigations and the broader financial crime framework to manage escalations and provide updates to senior stakeholders.
Understand and foster strategic partnerships with AML Investigators and other stakeholders across the wider GFCC (MLROs, Advisory etc.) and controls partners (e.g.Quality Assurance, Monitoring & Testing, Controls Evaluation etc.) toeffectivelyexecute on the team's strategic priorities.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
A qualified graduate with 10+ years of relevant experience in AML Governance and Analytics
Demonstrated experience in operational controls and business management within a financial crime environment, including governance, exam/audit readiness, and operational risk management.
Strong knowledge of AML Investigations operating models and the broader financial crime compliance framework.
Excellent organizational and project management skills, with a proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and managing competing priorities with strong execution discipline.
Clear, concise communicator with strong stakeholder management skills able to translate regulatory/compliance requirements into actionable guidance for business partners.
Hands on experience in utilizing advanced data analytics and reporting tools, including and not limited to Tableau, ThoughtSpot, and Alteryx, with demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to drive insights and develop/enhance reporting prototypes
Thrive in a fast-paced environment self-starter, able to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgment, escalate appropriately, consistently meet deadlines and ability to deliver under pressure.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
Experience in regulatory exam management or audit coordination and reporting.
Good knowledge of risk management and control frameworks.
Exposure to process improvement or transformation initiatives.
Ability to build effective stakeholder collaboration across regions.
