About A&M Global Capability Center Private Limited
In 2023, A&M established a high-quality global capability center in India. The capability center has dedicated centers of expertise which work with A&M leadership across multiple business units and geographies to enable efficient service delivery to A&M clients.
The GCC is designed to efficiently and innovatively scale client delivery teams to meet ongoing demands. It helps A&M's global business units expand their talent pool in India, allowing them to hire specialized professionals, maintain competitive pricing, accelerate delivery speeds with a hybrid onshore-offshore team, and leverage automation with top-tier digital and analytics talent. The GCC blends industry and consulting professionals across multiple domains to drive change and add value.
Unlike traditional GCC models focused on back-office support, we partner with case teams for end-to-end case delivery and thought leadership. The Team
A&M's Transaction Advisory Group (TAG) has an exciting entrepreneurial opportunity to join a budding global capability center team in India and work with the teams across Americas, EMEA and APAC. A&M TAG is seeking an associate to bring their energy, passion, and expertise to help our clients get the answers they need to get the deal done. We provide private equity and corporate clients buy side and sell side financial accounting due diligence. TAG professionals actively engage in assessing a target's quality of earning, analyzing cash flows, reviewing working capital, identifying key business drivers, reviewing forecasts, and conducting comprehensive discussions with management and their advisors.
How you will contribute
As a Senior Associate, you will have the opportunity to work with our highly motivated and effective team of professionals on a variety of interesting global projects across different industries including but not limited to manufacturing, distribution, consumer, retail, restaurants, business and industrial services as well as healthcare, software & technology, energy and financial services.
Considering the pace of targeted growth, we are keen to find people who are entrepreneurial, driven by a passion to drive significant growth (people who can think in multiples of growth rather than percentages), are comfortable with ambiguity, will roll up the sleeves and be hands on to get things done and can be independent requiring limited cover.
The role will be initially based in Gurgaon. However, the person should be open to travel as and when needed. Willing and ability to travel abroad.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading post-merger accounting engagements, including business combinations under ASC 805/IFRS 3
- Leading/supporting Financial Reporting engagements which includes preparation of financial statements, drafting accounting policies ,relevant disclosures and MD&A's.
- Leading/supporting drafting of pro-forma financial statements.
- Advising clients on technical accounting matters such as revenue recognition (ASC 606/IFRS 15), leases (ASC 842/IFRS 16), consolidations (ASC810/IFRS 10) , and financial instruments (ASC 825/IFRS 9)
- Leading/Supporting IPO and capital markets readiness, including SEC/IASB reporting, financial statement preparation, and carve-out financials
- Managing GAAP conversion projects, including IFRS to US GAAP transitions and vice-versa
- Driving financial reporting transformation initiatives
- Preparing technical accounting memorandums to support complex accounting conclusions and stakeholder discussions
- Work with clients in financial distress or undergoing bankruptcy, providing guidance on Fresh Start Accounting, the application of emerging accounting standards, and restructuring of financial statements.
- Supports companies in evaluation of accounting errors and reconstruction of financial statements, books and records
- Assist with implementation or adoption of new accounting standards and drafting accounting position paper and disclosures based on accounting change.
- Participate in meetings and conference calls with target company management and with client personnel.
- Lead the project with a team of 1-2 junior professionals.
- Be actively involved in building and maintaining client relationships and other business development opportunities.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3-6 years of financial accounting experience at preferably a Big4 or a top accounting firm in their India Global Delivery Center
- Chartered Accountant (CA)/ Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Working knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, IND AS and SEC reporting preferred
- High proficiency in Microsoft Tools
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong project management skills
- Flexibility to work as both a team member in a collaborative setting and as an individual contributor
- Ability to thrive and be effective in fast-paced settings
