Senior Associate – Accounting & Finance Operations

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Associate – Accounting & Finance Operations to independently manage day-to-day accounting and finance activities for assigned portfolio companies. The role involves accounting operations, reconciliations, payments, payroll support, statutory compliance, financial reporting, audit coordination, and month-end closure.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintain complete and accurate books of accounts.
2. Record and review invoices, receipts, payments, journal entries, and other accounting transactions.
3. Perform bank, vendor, customer, and inter-company ledger reconciliations.
4. Process approved payments and maintain supporting documentation.
5. Support payroll processing, variable pay, employee reimbursements, and related accounting activities.
6. Prepare TDS and other applicable statutory workings.
7. Assist with weekly, monthly, and year-end accounting closures.
8. Prepare MIS reports, cash-flow reports, and budget-versus-actual variance reports.
9. Manage project-wise accounting and budget allocations.
10. Monitor receivables and payables and support timely follow-up.
11. Coordinate with auditors, consultants, tax professionals, and relevant authorities.
12. Maintain complete and audit-ready financial records.
13. Identify and promptly resolve or escalate accounting discrepancies.
14. Support preparation of financial statements and management reports as required.
15. Ensure accounting processes and internal controls are followed consistently.
16. Maintain confidentiality of financial and business information.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor's degree in commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
2. Minimum 1.5 years of relevant accounting experience.
3. Strong practical exposure to the complete accounting cycle.
4. Experience across multiple accounting functions.
5. Good knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and statutory requirements.
6. Proficiency in MS Excel / Google Sheets.
7. Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.
8. Strong attention to detail and ownership of assigned responsibilities.
9. Good written and verbal English communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

Prior experience using Zoho Books / Zoho Accounting will be an added advantage.

WORK ARRANGEMENT – PERMANENT WORK FROM HOME

This is a permanent work-from-home position with no regular work-from-office requirement. The selected candidate must have a suitable home-working environment, reliable internet connectivity, availability during prescribed working hours, and the ability to independently manage assigned responsibilities remotely. The candidate should maintain professional communication and attend virtual meetings and review discussions as required.
