Job Description

Be part of SingHealth's dynamic strategy and media team that builds, strengthens and safeguards SingHealth's profile as a thought leader in the healthcare space — in Singapore, the region, and the international arena. Working within the media relations team, you will drive strategic communications that advance SingHealth's organisational priorities and reinforce the positioning of SingHealth and the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre across external platforms.

You will be the go-to communications media specialist providing counsel to stakeholders across key SingHealth domains, including Research and Group Allied Health.

What You Will Do:

You will drive effective communications through media relations for key SingHealth stakeholders, positioning SingHealth as a thought leader through favourable media and trade media coverage across key local and international channels. This involves developing strategic messages and positioning in alignment with corporate objectives, preparing media materials, providing strategic counsel on communications matters to internal stakeholders and managing relationships with media contacts. You will also support the management of reputational risks through timely responses to emerging issues.

On the story development front, you will propose ideas for concepts and content, manage the production of quality materials that convey key messages, and provide strategic counsel to internal and external stakeholders to garner maximum media profile opportunities. You will proactively engage internal stakeholders to seek profiling opportunities and organise relationship-building platforms to optimise media engagement with key news media outlets for the whole cluster.

You will manage key and signature events from conceptualisation to final execution — including project planning, manpower resourcing and providing communications counsel to ensure successful media outcomes. As part of the media team, you will contribute to the daily media report of healthcare news and monitor the impact of news coverage for ongoing performance assessment.

Job Requirements:

  • Good Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience
  • Strong news sense, an established media network and sound knowledge of current affairs
  • Excellent command of the English language. Proficiency in a second language is preferred
  • Good grasp of new communication tools and trends
  • Adept at project management, with the ability to work independently and as a creative, resourceful team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to support events that occasionally take place outside of regular office hours and to be contactable for media-related or urgent matters after hours when necessary
