Role Description The Senior Art Gallerist – Sales role is a full-time, on-site position based in Delhi. This role is responsible for leading sales activities within the gallery, including presenting artworks to clients, conducting negotiations, and closing sales while maintaining strong, long-term client relationships. The Senior Art Gallerist will curate and manage exhibitions, collaborate with artists, oversee artwork display and visual merchandising, and ensure that the gallery's aesthetic standards are met. Daily responsibilities include engaging visitors, providing detailed information about artists and artworks, organizing promotional events, and working with marketing teams to drive footfall and sales. The role also involves maintaining sales records, reporting on performance, and contributing to strategies that grow the gallery's clientele and revenue.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in fine and visual Art, with the ability to understand and evaluate diverse artistic styles and mediums.
- Experience with Graphics and visual presentation, including basic design skills for catalogs, promotional materials, and digital showcases.
- Proficiency in Art Direction, guiding exhibitions, displays, and overall gallery aesthetics to align with brand and audience expectations.
- Exposure to or background in Painting, enabling informed discussions with artists and clients about techniques, mediums, and artistic intent.
- Appreciation of Music and other creative disciplines to support multidisciplinary events and enhance gallery experiences.
- Proven sales and client relationship management skills, ideally in art, luxury, or high-value products.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities, with a consultative, customer-centric approach.
- Strong organizational and event management skills, with attention to detail in exhibition planning and execution.
- Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Art History, Design, Marketing, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in an art gallery, auction house, or cultural institution is an advantage.
