ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Senior Architect – SAP, you will define and own the end-to-end solution architecture for SAP-centric enterprise platforms. This role requires strong functional breadth (SD, MM, FI/CO), deep integration expertise, and the ability to translate business strategy into scalable SAP solutions.
You will act as a trusted architecture advisor to business leaders, product owners, and delivery teams while shaping the long-term SAP roadmap across ECC and S/4HANA landscapes.
Working closely with business, delivery, integration, and security stakeholders, this role will drive clean-core-aligned extensibility and upgrade-stable designs by enforcing released interfaces, minimizing customizations, and setting strong architectural guardrails.
This role will also be responsible for integration cutover strategy and execution, including end-to-end dependency mapping, mock cutovers, reconciliation controls, and go-live readiness across SAP and connected platforms through governed integration patterns.
Finally, this role will mentor architects, define reusable reference architectures and standards, and strengthen consistency across programs through design authority and continuous improvement.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy and Planning
- Define enterprise-grade SAP solution architectures across SAP ECC / S/4HANA, aligned to business capabilities and IT strategy
- Lead complex solution designs involving SAP SD, MM, FI/CO, and cross-module integrations
- Own non-functional requirements including scalability, performance, security, and resiliency
- Establish architecture standards, principles, and reference models for SAP platforms
Delivery and Execution
- Design and govern SAP–non-SAP integrations using middleware (e.g., MuleSoft, APIs, IDocs, RFCs)
- Drive architecture decisions for data flows, interfaces, and enterprise integrations
- Collaborate with Cloud, Data, and Security architects to ensure cohesive solutions
Support and Enablement
- Partner with Business, Product, and Engineering teams to translate requirements into fit-for-purpose SAP solutions
- Provide architectural oversight across implementation, enhancements, rollouts, and upgrades
- Review solution designs, guide technical teams, and unblock delivery risks
- Lead architecture forums, design reviews, and governance checkpoints
- Promote best practices, reusability, and continuous improvement across SAP delivery teams
People Leadership
- Mentor and guide architects and senior engineers to strengthen architectural and SAP capabilities
- Promote clean‑core principles, design consistency, and enterprise‑first thinking
- Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across business, product, and engineering teams
JOB REQUIREMENT
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- SAP certifications (S/4HANA, SD/MM, Architecture) are preferred
Required Experience
- 12–15 years of overall experience in delivery across enterprise applications with 4-5 yrs of end-to-end solution architecture for SAP-centric platforms
- Strong hands-on experience across SAP SD and MM (FI/CO knowledge preferred)
Essential Skills
- Experience with SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA transformation programs
- Solid understanding of SAP data models, pricing, inventory, order-to-cash, and procure-to-pay flows
- Deep integration knowledge (IDocs, APIs, middleware, event-based integrations)
- Experience working in large, distributed, enterprise environments
- Ability to think beyond modules and design end-to-end business solutions
- Strong communication skills to engage senior business and IT stakeholders
- Curiosity and attitude to learn across domains and technologies (explicitly emphasized internally)
- Solid Core SAP Skills and functional breadth (SD, MM, FI/CO), deep integration expertise, and the ability to translate business strategy into scalable SAP solutions
- Ability to explore, analyse and drive Enterprise solutions across modules and collaborate with stakeholders for solution definition and implementation
Desired Skills
- Experienced implementing event-driven integration using SAP Event Mesh and governed business events across hybrid landscapes
- Familiar with ABAP Cloud and RAP concepts for clean core compliant services and extensions
