The IIHS Campus is located on a 54-acre site at Kengeri, Bengaluru, located between a 525 acre reserve forest and an 800-year old 150-acre lake. The IIHS Campus Development team focuses on design, procurement, execution, and documentation of the development of the IIHS Kengeri Campus. Job Description

IIHS is looking to hire an architect with 10 to 12 years of work experience. The work includes support in design development, review of drawings, site supervision, and coordination with various stakeholders involved in the project for design development and site execution.

This position will be part of the Campus Development team at IIHS based at Kengeri, Bengaluru. The responsibilities for this role will involve supporting design delivery and execution of campus development activities, including, but not restricted to site planning, architectural design, review of drawings, and site supervision. The work will also involve direct architectural intervention as per regular business practices, as well as research, publications, prototyping, and creation of policies, standards, and guidelines.

Activities and Tasks

Responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:

• Reviewing architectural design, interior design, working drawings, renderings, representations and details, 3D models in Revit and Rhino;
• Coordinating with stakeholders for BIM integration with respect to architectural, civil, interior, and services;
• Coordinating with design and execution teams for proposed and ongoing activities at the site to ensure that deadlines, procedures, and other project requirements are met;
• Supporting the Lead Architect in design development, planning, documentation, and team management;
• Providing architectural inputs and guidance to the project execution teams;
• Preparing and approving preliminary tenders and GFC drawings;
• Providing architectural support to both operations and project teams in OpEx and CapEx projects;
• Assisting in the documentation of campus development activities and preparation of teaching and learning material;
• Organising workshops and consultations with key stakeholders;
• Providing support to other IIHS activities including academics, research, training, practice, operations and others;
• Participating in all activities of institution-building at IIHS; carrying out tasks as assigned by IIHS; and traveling on IIHS work within or outside the country as and when needed.

Structure and Reporting

The position will report to the Lead Campus Development at the IIHS Kengeri Campus and will be required to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of internal teams and external individuals/ organisations, and students.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate should have:

• A professional degree in Architecture and/ or a Master's in Architecture/ Planning;
• 10-12 years of prior experience, preferably covering a full project cycle from design development to execution and handover of sustainable buildings along with experience in project management;
• Prior experience working in BIM for architectural, civil, interior, and services integration, using Revit and Rhino in addition to AutoCAD, SketchUp, InDesign, and Photoshop;
• Demonstrable knowledge of sustainable building practices and methods, embodied energy analysis, and life cycle analysis;
• An understanding of building codes, environmental regulations, and green building rating systems;
• The openness to travel from time to time as per project requirements;
• Effective verbal and written communication skills;
• Flexibility and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment;
• Competence in handling simultaneously occurring tasks and smaller projects;
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to be a team player;
• Software skills
• BIM for architectural, civil, interior, and services integration, Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign;
