Senior Architect

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Architect to join our core team in Patna. At altARQ, we bridge the gap between high-end design innovation and technical execution. This role is unique: you will be overseeing complex local projects in India while also spearheading design services for US-based AEC firms.

The ideal candidate is a techno-creative leader—someone who can design a stunning elevation one hour and dive deep into IS 456 or IBC (International Building Code) compliance the next.

Key Responsibilities

•           Project Leadership: Lead residential, healthcare, and commercial projects from concept through to GFC (Good for Construction) and Permit drawings.

•           Cross-Border Compliance: Ensure all design documentation adheres to both Indian Standards (IS Codes) for local sites and US Building Codes (IBC, IRC, ADA, NFPA) for international collaborations.

•           Technical Oversight: Review and vet Architecture, Structure, MEP, and Interior sets to ensure zero-error delivery.

•           BIM Management: Oversee the production of high-LOD models (LOD 300-350) and ensure seamless coordination between remote design teams and on-site execution teams.

•           Mentorship: Guide junior architects and site teams (like our Patna-based site and software units) to maintain the highest standards of architectural output.

Required Skills & Qualifications

•           Experience: Minimum 4–5 years of proven experience in a leading architectural role.

•           Code Proficiency: * Deep understanding of NBC and local Bihar building bylaws.

◦           Working knowledge of US Codes (IBC, ADA accessibility standards, and Life Safety codes).

•           Software Command: Expert-level proficiency in Revit (BIM), AutoCAD, and Rhino/SketchUp. Familiarity with project management tools (like Asana/Notion) is a huge plus.

•           Design Sensibility: A strong portfolio demonstrating a CRED-like minimalist, high-end aesthetic and a focus on evidence-based design (e.g., geriatric safety or healthcare).

•           Communication: Ability to articulate complex design decisions to both local contractors and international clients.
