As a Senior Lead Applied AI Engineer at JPMorgan Chase, you will be a key member of an agile team focused on enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products. You will leverage deep technical expertise and advanced problem-solving skills to drive significant business impact, architecting and implementing scalable, secure, and high-quality machine learning solutions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide regular technical guidance and direction to business units, technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus.
  • Act as a thought leader and trusted advisor to executive leadership, offering strategic recommendations on machine learning initiatives.
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code.
  • Review and debug code written by others to ensure best practices and code quality.
  • Promote software and model quality, integrity, and security across the organization.
  • Drive decisions influencing product design, application functionality, and technical operations.
  • Architect and oversee the development of next-generation machine learning models and systems using cutting-edge technologies.
  • Ensure the platform supports complex use cases, including real-time predictions, big data processing, and advanced analytics.
  • Drive innovation in machine learning solutions, ensuring scalability, flexibility, and future-proof architecture.
  • Actively contribute to the engineering community as an advocate for firmwide frameworks, tools, and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Formal training or certification onsoftware engineeringconcepts and 5+ years applied experience

  • Proven experience in technical leadership and providing guidance to engineering teams.
  • Strong expertise in developing, reviewing, and debugging secure, high-quality production code.
  • Deep knowledge of machine learning, big data processing, and advanced analytics.
  • Experience architecting scalable and flexible machine learning platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and influence technology adoption.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to advise executive leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the financial services industry, particularly in consumer and community banking.
  • Familiarity with firmwide frameworks, tools, and SDLC best practices.
  • Track record of contributing to the engineering community and promoting best practices.
