About the Role

We are currently seeking experienced Senior Application Support Engineer to play a critical role in ensuring the stability, resilience, and efficiency of our global application landscape. This role combines deep technical expertise with operational leadership, focusing on all aspects of application support activities across multiple managed instances like Incident/problem/change/Deployment support, Infrastructure provisioning & security hardening, disaster recovery, monitoring & observability, and cloud cost optimization.

You will bring strong experience in Azure, production support, and automation, with a proactive mindset toward AI-driven operations (AIOps, GenAI) and continuous service improvement along with the ability to engage business stakeholders, communicate effectively during incidents, and build trust with External & Internal clients

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading Application Support & Service Reliability: Provide leadership within the L2 support function, ensuring timely resolution of complex incidents and service requests. Acting as a senior escalation point for high-priority incidents and critical production issues and ensure ensuring end-to-end service stability, availability, and performance of business-critical applications.
  • Collaboratingwith Stakeholders: Serve as a trusted partner to business stakeholders and application owners, ensuring alignment with service expectations. Translating technical issues into business impact, enabling informed decision-making. Participating in service reviews, operational governance meetings, and reporting forums and building strong relationships across global teams (DevOps, SRE, engineering, and architecture teams), vendors, and business units.
  • Monitoring Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and track KPIs, SLAs, and SLOs (availability, MTTR, incident trends, customer satisfaction). Performing root cause analysis (RCA) and ensure implementation of long-term fixes. Maintaining runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base for operational efficiency.
  • Enhance Application Stability: Establish and enhance observability practices across applications using logs, metrics, and traces using tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, Splunk, Dynatrace, etc. Implementing proactive monitoring, intelligent alerting, and event correlation.
  • Ensure compliance with data policies and regulations.
  • Stay up to date with the latest data analytics tools, techniques, and industry trends by leveraging AIOps capabilities for anomaly detection and predictive issue resolution.
  • DrivingContinuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline data processes, enhance operational efficiency, and optimize data quality. Identifying areas for automation and implementing solutions to minimize manual intervention.

Your experience

  • 10+ years of experience in application support, IT operations, or production engineering, with strong expertise in L2 support environments with proven record of handling business-critical, high-availability systems in complex enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead by influence, mentor junior engineers, and drive operational best practices without formal people management authority and experience working in globally distributed teams and managing cross-regional support models.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (Compute, Storage, Databases & Monitoring) with proven experience managing cloud-native and hybrid environments. Strong understanding of Azure high availability and disaster recovery designs.
  • Deep expertise in observability practices, including Metrics, logs, traces (3 pillars of observability). Distributed tracing and performance monitoring with hands-on experience with tools such as: Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or similar platforms
  • Positive attitude with proven thought process around building self-healing systems and automated remediation workflows.
  • Strong hands-on experience with scripting and automation: PowerShell, Python, Bash and automation/orchestration tools (Azure Automation, Logic Apps, Runbooks) with good understanding on CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is a plus.
  • Reinsurance industry experience is highly valued.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Graduate degree with Computer Science background.
  • Certifications:
    • Microsoft Azure (Administrator / Solutions Architect)
    • ITIL v4 Foundation / Managing Professional
    • FinOps Practitioner
  • Experience in financial services, reinsurance, or regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with SRE, DevOps, and platform engineering practices.
  • Experience supporting large-scale, distributed, mission-critical systems.
  • Knowledge of security, compliance, and risk frameworks in enterprise IT.
