Senior Application Engineer

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Pre Sales (30%)

1.1 Work closely with internal and external customers to understand their machine automation

needs and provide an optimized solution

1.2. Consultation and support on technically demanding applications in the production area.

1.3.Develop custom motion demos and demonstrate proof-of-concept (POC)

2. Technical Support and Reporting (40%)

2.1 Provide high level applications support on technical issues at the customer's site as required

2.2 Identify root cause of hardware and software issues by analyzing data

2.3 Support the setup, management, and tear down of equipment at trade shows and roadshows

2.4 Provide feedback to Global team on our products such as reporting bugs/issues, making

suggestions for enhancements or new products.

2.5 Execute the troubleshooting (software, mechanical & Electrical) for controller troubleshooting

issues and maintain the documentation of troubleshooting procedures.

2.6 Timely submission of monthly reports, success stories

3. ATC (Automation Centre) Enhancement and support: (30%)

3.1 Conduct OJT (On-the-Job Training) for internal and external stakeholders and maintain the

training documentation.

3.2 Participate and contribute to innovative application-level projects, including features for

improving machine automation products

3.3 Preparation and support to conduct and manage customer presentations at Automation

Centre India (ATC)

3.4 Support to upkeep and enhance the motion controller setup and lab at ATC.

3.5 Explore Omron-Delta-Tau (ODT) product's features/functions and share the technical notes

across the team members

Academic & Professional Qualifications

B.E./B.Tech./ M.Tech / Any relevant diploma with a minimum of 5 to 9 years of experience in machine automation, application programming, & Commissioning in the Industrial Automation domain. ( end to end project management)

Achievement & Experience

• Proficient in Complex motion programming- Multi-Axis Interpolation, Gear-in, Cam-in. Kinematics, multi-encoder programming
• Hands-on experience in C programming and strong knowledge of structured text programming.
• Programming knowledge with VB. NET/C#. NET/Python, etc. will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of Industrial protocols like EtherCAT, EtherNET/IP, PROFIBUS, etc., and production-related protocols like Modbus, OPC-UA, MQTT, TSN, etc.
• Experience in managing applications like - CNC Machine, Laser cutting machine, Gluing, Dispensing, Drilling, Engraving, Winding -unwinding
• Knowledge of the kinematics of special-purpose machines.
