Job Summary:
CADFEM is seeking a technically strong and motivated Photonics AE / Sr AE to support customers in designing, simulating, and optimizing advanced optical and photonic systems using ANSYS solutions. The role involves partnering with customers across semiconductor, defence, telecom, automotive and healthcare sectors to solve complex electromagnetic, wave-optics and multi-physics challenges through advanced simulation workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop proof-of-concepts, benchmark models, and tailored simulation workflows for applications such as integrated photonics, photonic ICs, optical interconnects, modulators, waveguides, and sensors.
- Support both pre-sales and post-sales understanding customer device physics and design flows, and articulating simulation value.
- Assist customers in integrating photonic simulation tools into their R&D workflows for device and system- level validation.
- Contribute to technical notes, best-practice guides, case studies, webinars, and training sessions to strengthen knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to webinars, workshops, customer trainings and customer meetings, effectively communicating simulation outcomes to technical and business stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of developments in silicon photonics, high-speed optical communication, quantum, PICs, LiDAR, AR/VR optics, and emerging photonic technologies.
Education:
Master's degree (Ph.D. preferred for Sr. Level) in Photonics, Optics, Electronics
Eligibility:
- Experience in photonic device/system design or simulation .
- Strong fundamentals in Maxwell's equations, electromagnetic wave propagation, and optical materials.
- Hands-on expertise in waveguide design, photonic ICs, lasers/LEDs, modulators, detectors, optical interconnects, or quantum photonics.
- Proficiency with ANSYS Lumerical, RSoft or equivalent photonic simulation tools.
- Programming skills in Python or MATLAB for scripting, automation.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills with the ability to engage R&D stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel up to 25-30%
